Does anyone know of a good distributor for quality paint who could mix me up a couple gallons of Hemi Orange for a reasonable price. I'm trying to get it in Single Stage Acrylic Urethane if possible. The other color I'm thinking of getting is Sublime but it seems so many people have painted their darts that color lately (maybe it just seems that way bc i've been looking at that color dart a lot).

Any paint supplier can mix it for you. If you know somebody at a body shop that can order it for you at cost, buy them lunch or something.

Find a local jobber to get it from. This way if you need advice they are right there.

I normally try to buy local, but a friend who has restored several cars told me to order the paint fo my 65 barracuda online. The price is less than half of the local stores where I live and you have a wide variety of colors and types of paint.
try http://www.tcpglobal.com.
The only complaint Iv'e heard is you may not be able to match the paint should you need some later.
When I checked the acrylic urethane in a hugger orange it was $119.00
This included the basecoat, hardner and reducer.
The primer kit was $114.00 for the primer hardner and reducer
that totals $233.00
The local auto suppy was 305.00 without the primer. It was around $500.00 for the primer and basecoat.
Another address is www.RestorationShop.com

good luck and let us know what you decide,

So have you actually used their product yet? Just curious. I've seen their ads and was wondering about this paint...

I have not but a local guy who restores several cars uses it all of the time.

I took your advice and called a local shop I trust. For Go Mango Cost is going to be 382 a gallon for PPG Single Stage Shop Line Acrylic Urethane.

For Omni Line - 156 a gallon for AU and 125 a gallon for AE.

Does anyone have any recommendation on a way to go, I dont really want to have to spend the 650 it comes to for the Expensive stuff for a gallon and a quart and reducers and activator if I dont need to.

Does TCP Global have the Go Mango Equivelant?

There's also a seller on EBAY selling gallons of OMNI for 50-70 dollars, Do you think this is legit PPG Paint for that cost?

I can also get Sherwin Williams for around 100 a gallon, does anyone have any experience with their paint? I'm not sure what line, but it is single stage, a friend made the call for me.

Lots of questions Thanks for the help as always

Also, I am 100% set on my color of Go Mango now, so If someone has at least a gallon or more of this they aren't using please let me know.

TCP Global has a huge selection of colors. The price I told you was for the base coat, hardner and reducer. The Hugger ornge was I think $119 or so for the kit.

Pretty sure Hugger Orange is a straight color whereas the Go Mango has a micro fine gold metallic mica in it. I guess it really depends on how exact you want the color to be versus the real Go Mango/Viatmin C orange. If you really want it exact, buy the Omni. If you just want to stay in budget, buy the TCPGlobal and add a little micro fine metal flake to it...

Thanks. I didn't know Go Mango had the mettalic flakes, I guess that explains the price of the PPG Paint and why it has so much more depth than Hugger Orange. It looks like I'm going to go with PPG, unless someone has any insight on Sherwin Williams paints.

It's been a while, but I sprayed a lot of vehicle with the S-W paints when I was in the business. It was as good as anything else I've used, and the price is quite competitive.
There are 2 things you really have to be aware of when buying any paint.

First, if the color is any share of red/orange or blue, expect to pay big bucks for those colors.

Second, the cheaper lines of paint in any given brand name will not give the coverage that you get with the more expensive lines in the same brand name.

Soooo,,,,,, it's sometimes false economy to buy the cheaper lines because you end up using more than you would with the more costly lines. A case in point, a lot of reds and oranges have VERY poor coverage, even in the top line paints. You are usually better off to buy locally, and then if there's a screw up you can at least get some support, or another quart of paint when you run out 1 gun full before you have complete coverage.

That's what I was hoping for, I'm waiting for a final price on a couple of gallons of Sherwin Williams Paint, It will end up being what ever the bodyshops cost is. When I was going to go with Hemi Orange I was told it would be around 100 a gallon, so I wouldn't think Go Mango Should be much more which seems like a great price to me.
