The new exhaust for my '74 318 is scheduled to arrive next month. Looking at manifold gaskets on RockAuto, they have three choices (link). Fel-Pro, Mahle/Clevite, and Victor Reinz. This is my first Mopar and I haven't removed the manifolds yet, so I'm not sure which would be best. The Victor Reinz look like they might be for headers, which I'm not using.

What do you recommend?

I use nothing but Remflex gaskets, try them and you wont be disappointed

Oh snap I sent you the header gaskets listing I'm sorry try this one

I would go with the Victor-Reinz, simply because they're 1-piece with slots so you can hang them on the end studs before you start installing the manifolds. The Mahle gaskets get separated into pieces like the Fel-Pro. I can't speak for others, but I'll pay extra to avoid frustration in the garage.

Though they're not listed for the 318, I'd probably use Mahle part number 95095SG instead. More money, but the graphite gaskets work very well with exhaust manifolds. They're also a 1-piece design.

The Remflex gaskets are excellent, but might be overkill. Manifolds aren't that hard to seal if they're not cracked or badly warped.

If the manifolds are in good shape, not all rusted and pitted up on the mating surfaces; put a straightedge on them and make sure they're true. If not, have them trued up and run 'em.
The factory didn't use manifold gaskets and if the manifolds are still in good shape, neither do I. Never an issue.

I never put gaskets on any exhaust manifolds. If there is none there they is nothing to blow out and leak. The only time I have seen anything on them was the heat shields, If you can afford them. I never could so I would install them bare and never had them leak.
