Which years had 100 or 120 mph speedometers?

I finally got my 1973 Duster assembled to point of being driveable, around the storage lot at least. When reviewing video of the driving, I noticed the car has a 100 mph speedometer. It also has the RED tenths digit, which I've read in the past means a replacement odometer.

I had also bought another instrument cluster to rebuild and install, as the one in the car now has extra holes cut into it. The replacement cluster has a 120 mph speedometer.

Which years used 120 and 100 as the standard speedometer?

I think it changed around 1975 to 100 mph

I’ve got a 75 Scamp and it has a 100mph speedo. The 1975 parts book doesn’t list a 100 or a 120mph speedo so for sure by 75 it was only 100mph. Likely had something to do with Nixon signing a bill in 74 to help reduce fuel consumption?

Question now is if 100mph speedos were available before 1975 or was it only 120?

73's had the 120mph. Some 74's got the 100mph speedo, but most had 120.

Probably depends upon the vehicles.... my '68 A100 has a 100mph speedometer. To be fair, back in the day these things barely pushed 70mph without issues.

Based on a parts for sale thread put up today, the 100mph Speedo was available as early as the 72 model year. So both a 100mph and 120mph were offered until 75 at which point it was only 100mph.
