Chrysler made only 55 of these and lent them out to every day people to see if they were practical for every day use. Who can guess what's under the hood?
Most were cut up, it is a shame. There is one in Jay Lenos collection, a running driving survivor I believe. I think there are 2 or 3 others remaining.
Remember, this was a future car from the early 60's. It was supposed to evoke feelings of operating a rocket on 4 wheels. Obviously, from your reaction, the design still works 50 years later.
Took pictures of one and watched him start it (Kerosene) this time he said
It was so cool to hear it start and pull the grass in front and push it out the back, he drove it around a Monster Mopar Weekend in St. Louis :color:
Enjoy these great old pictures from 2010 :glasses7:
Yes, cool car and very futuristic for the day!!! I was lucky to see one at Carlisle many years ago! Again lucky enough to be in the building to see and here it run as the guy was parking it for the show!
I have a small scale model and a booklet from back them.
Did you happen to get any interior pics? Very cool inside, If I remember correctly the floor hump down the middle was almost rocket looking! I have pics somewhere?
