Who Is Using Mini Alternators?

I have to replace my old single-field alternator and I was looking at getting a more modern mini alternator after I read some posts here about guys using them.
Who out there is using mini alternators, and what has been your experience with any issues, ease of installation and reliability?

AR Engineering brackets from Mancini and a mid-early-90’s Toyota Denso alt. works great.

Yep. Can't contribute to the reliability aspect, but AR's brackets make mounting one a piece of cake. Saves about 5 lbs.
