Who's got a Battery powered push mower? Any worth a hoot?

New year, new season. I am thinking about purchasing one and am looking for real world experience and input.... Trim only with some bagging and yes I don't always cut my yard like clockwork but mostly maintained....

Input is appreciated,

How big is your yard? Judging by some of the battery powered tools I own, that stuff has come a long way, now if I were you I'd start doing your yard like clockwork, it's will be easier on that mower or any mower & way better for your yard...keep the battery charged up &keep the blade SHARP. it will make you mower very happy

I have an acre but only need it for trim work. I do Ok with keeping up with it.....

I think it would be fine, have you ran a Google search for battery powered mower reviews, my front yard is 1/2 an acre, I use a riding JD, but will be looking for a push mower for my othe 3 chunks of grass.

I have researched them but they all have pros and cons. I still have a tried and true Kawasaki powered JD for trim work but as times moves on so does my interest in small engine upkeep. Just looking at options. It may have to occasionally chop up a missed last feeding from the dog also lol.....

Well, with modern battery technology they are pretty impressive. I have a battery powered electric snow blower that I use for the far ends of the property so I don’t have to run a 200’ extension cord and it is every bit as powerful as the corded version I use for the main areas.

I ran through 10” of heavy wet snow with it for as long as the battery power lasted and it didn’t flinch. 30 mins of continuous run time moved a lot of snow. Then I swapped in the second battery while the first one recharged...and kept right on going.
 
I was also considering a battery powered mower last year when I had to purchase a new lawn mower. I went with a Toro self-propelled gas it's a good little mower for what it is. But I will tell you that at work we have a electric powered chainsaw I believe it's Husqvarna chainsaw I rolled my eyes when I saw it but it's a cuten fool it's a small topping type saw but it's very clean and quite powerful and so far has been trouble-free. Yeah I know what does that have to do with lawn mowers LOL:realcrazy:
 
I've got 1/3 of an acre and I love mine. Ryobi 40V, 20", self-propelled. I used it all last year and can't imagine using anything else from now on. I didn't buy it brand new though; found a 1 year old model on Marketplace for half of what they cost brand new. I've got a few spare batteries as all of the other tools I have, hedge trimmer, weed eater, edger, are all 40V Ryobi as well.
 
Neighbor and I both went with Toro 60v. non self propelled. Tried a couple others but just didn’t cut as well. Our yard takes 50 minutes, battery has never run out I don’t believe. We did want a spare battery and the cost of just the battery was within a few bucks of a leaf blower which came with a battery so we did that. 2ah maybe? It runs the blower about 15-20 minutes

Have this exact model. Was uncertain at first but she works great. Use it on my whole yard which is about 1/3 acre with enough charge left for next cut.
 
Battery operated anything never lasts, batteries hold minimal charge you will buy 2 or 3 of those mowers and your gas engine mower will last and last, while you're at it, why don't you buy a tesla and get rid of your mopar.
 
I've used this thing for small spaces for more than a decade and haven't recharged it yet! Persnickety old machine but I assume you're down with that, and a workout to boot!

I've switched a lot of my equipment from gas powered to electric and have had zero issues. Oh and did I mention no maintenance?
 
My neighbor lady had an electric mower to mow her yard about a 20 min job front and back. Had it a few years and she dumped it for a gas mower. Said it wasn’t powerful enough.
 
I have a Ryobi 40volt push mower and had it about 3 yrs with no problems whatsoever, i bring the batteries in the house to charge them and also have a leaf blower that use the same batteries.
I like it because it's light and i can hang it on the wall when not using it.

It must've been a early crappy model, i have no problem cutting tall grass, i get through the front and back yard on one battery and 11/2 battery when i don't cut it for 2 weeks or it's been heavy rains.
 
Yes I’m gonna say it was an earlier model not sure of brand but was green. She’s super earth friendly I was surprised when I saw the gas mower, I had to ask why the switch.

They had an eco model at home depot but it looked generic

Just bustin' your chops. I'm old and lazy..... Maybe I should just call Biden and ask for a SNAP card to pay for lawncare lol...

One of my buddies works at Briggs&Stratton and says they are working on going to electric mowers soon.
