My wife smuggled out my keepsake T Shirt from my teens, without me knowing and framed it in a shadowbox. Got this back around 15 -16 yeaes old in 73 maybe 74.


Preserved for eternity or at least Till it burns in a fire !

Sorry. I'm late. Pslam 60:4.
"Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth."

Today's is Romans 5:3.
"“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;”

This is the book. I have very little book patience and my church brothers know this. They chose wisely as the lessons are very brief. I might actually make it through this one. lol

Whew! Reads like Shakespeare! lol. I like NIV. Also, everything Paul writes on works / faith is amazing. I encourage you @RustyRatRod or anyone else reading to study the versus before and after in your daily devotional, for context.

5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. Full context: Saved by Faith through Grace. Works is a byproduct. Patience and perseverance are also byproducts of Faith.
 
I didn’t get anything worth noting but I bought my son several video games for his vintage game consoles (NES, Super NES, and Nintendo 64). He loves old stuff like muscle cars, vinyl records, and 80’s/90’s video games.
Typical kid at Christmas though, after about an hour he didn’t want anything to do with the gifts and moved onto playing with his old toys.

He didn’t even get tackle for Christmas, just had the itch.

I use the KJV and the NLT. That way, I can see what they both say and it all makes better sense. Normally, I can make sense out of the KJV alone, because I ain't the dullest knife in the drawer, but every now and again I grab the NLT.
 
Karrin got me an Alice in Chains man in the box T-shirt not framed in a shadowbox but it fits. The Hanes boxer briefs with the extra pouch for old man balls. She even let me take them out of her purse to make sure they fit.

I grew up on the KJV and have two. I've got “car Bibles” so they fill that need well as I drive anywhere from 3-4 different cars per week. Jesus take the wheel!

I think we ate it all, except what we gave the kids/grandkids. Which amounts to fewer $ in checking and /or bigger CC debt!!!! :thumbsup: :BangHead:
Wait, I take that back, Kids gave us a box of cleaning stuff to clean the new stove we had to buy!

You know how we love to say “I got myself this for Christmas.” just as an excuse to buy something. Sometimes a Christmas sale or discount needs to be taken advantage of!
 
My niece gave me a book, 'How to talk to your cat about gun safety'

It's hilarious. Also includes how to talk to your cat about the moon landing hoax.

I love reading, bit some parts of the scripture can be a little dry (1st chronicles for instance)

One thing I love about getting older is being mature enough to take one or two verses and string a coherent thought in between them


I specially love that Psalm 60:4, because of the truth (let God be true and every man a liar)
That one is very applicable today

The romans 5:3 will go in the back pocket, simply because I don't know tribulation, not like Paul knew it
