Been there, done that!
I got one of those 11 years ago, it was actually a great gift

I had just started a new job and my wife was 9 month pregnant
In fact, she was so pregnant when we walked into to the ER they tried to put her in a wheelchair

I knew my new job wasn't going to give me time off to be with the wife and baby, but with the broken ankle they had no choice

Worked out great

Not this year but last I went to a place called christmas village on Chrstmas eve I said to the wife man this place is crowded covid schmovid.

Wouldn't you know new years eve I was sick and in bed by 730 new years eve was sick about 16 hours i dont think it was covid but...I shook it pretty quick.

Glad you didn't get it around election time, it was deadly back then, now it's just the sniffles
It ain't been too bad. Not like it was back when it started, for sure. My wife and I came to our camper at the beach for New Years, and I wasn't sick at all. We went to a dinner with some of our neighbors the day we got here, then back to our place. I woke up about 4 am to use the bathroom, dizzy and stumbly (I don't drink!) and felt like I'd been hit by a bus. Stayed in bed most of the next day before my wife jerked my butt up and made me take a Covid test. Didn't take it long to show I was +. Off to the Urgent care place we went! They put me on Paxlovid and I have gotten better every day since. I hoped my wife wouldn't get it even though we were in a 400 Sq. ft. camper together, but she did. For both of us, it has just been congestion, a cough, sore throat and the initial hit by a bus feeling. 2 of the people that were at the dinner we had to go to came down with it, and I feel awful about that. I didn't feel sick at the time and had no idea I was contagious.

Some Secret Santa gave me Covid. 5 years in....finally got it for the first time! :BangHead:
That sucks! Hopefully you'll get over it quickly, with no long term effects. I was one of the "lucky ones" (yeah right!) who got it early (in '20), and my sense of taste went away completely. Got it back eventually, but to this days it's still messed-up (weird sensitivity to things like mustard and soy sauce).

Good luck!
