Will a reaar end, springs and driveshaft from a 70 Dart 2dr fit in a 66 2dr?

Hi All,

I came across a deal on a rebuilt 904, rebuilt 7 1/4 with 3.23's, nice springs/shackles and a driveshaft from a 1970 car pretty close to me. Will this fit in my 66 2dr dart? A bit of research is leading me to think it will but I want to check with the hive mind.
 
As I recall, everything should fit fine although the driveshaft
will probably need to be shorten some. I believe the 66 Darts are
still 106 ( ? ) while the 70 are 108 or 111 depending on the model
as my elderly mind seems to recall.
 
Yes- all is the same but the driveshaft.
You also will have to deal with the nub of the converter into the back of your engine if you have a V8. A slant your all set and it does not matter. 904 from slant will not work on V8 and vise a versa.

Nice that the 7 1/4 is rebuilt but it is the weakest/ smallest Mopar rear axle for those cars. Most step up to a stronger 8 1/4 or 8 3/4. Just sayin'

The torque converter won't unless your engine crankshaft is later than '67. You would either need to build a custom converter with the small snout, or change the front pump assembly on the transmission to the earlier style....like maybe off your old transmission? The driveshaft will depend on the wheel base of both vehicles, and the u-joint size (or use conversion u-joints)
 
Good catch on the torque converter nose/crankshaft counterbore mismatch.

A '66 Dart and a '70 Dart both have a 111" wheelbase, and with a 7-1/4" rear axle and 904 trans there'll be the smaller 7260 U-joints in both cars, so that's not a concern.
