Sounds like you car is setup just right. On a side note I just scored a edelbrock airgap for 100 bucks!

GRR-8! price on the air-gap.
My keys would fall out of the ignition switch,usually on a good 1-2 shift.Then I'd be reachin' down to grab 'em so they didn't fall out the hole in the floor.Never put the rubber plugs in.
IF you could find a deep Moroso pan and p/u,the book on how-to-build a big inch small block says they are worth a few hp.If not,you have the windage tray.Bob
