Well folks, I just finished putting Wilwoods on all fours in my '67 Barracuda. I think I may have made a mistake by leaving the original master cylinder in place (dual reservoir).

The problem I'm having is excessive drag on the brakes now. I was told that there's a check valve in the MC that keeps pressure in the lines and that I should either remove it or get the proper MC.

Any suggestions?

If it was an original drum brake car, that's what happens.
I did have luck pulling the valve out of one m/c, using an easy out to pull the seat out,
removed the ball and spring and put the seat back.
If it's old, I would just get the m/c from Wilwood and have peace of mind

We just put Wilwoods all around our Duster with a master cylinder for a 4 wheel disc Daytona. The brakes work great, we ran 6.3 @ 107 in the 1/8 with no brake problems.

that little residual pressure valve is root of your problems. it keeps 10lbs of line pressure to the drums to keep the shoes close to the drums for more responsive braking, without it, the shoes would retract more and you get a clunk sound on the first pedal push and then normal braking from there. the 2 bolt alum. master that mancini sells is awesome.
