My son has shown some interest in this shotgun.
What do you say?
Maybe in comparation to the Remington 1100 (non choke barrel) I have...
Thanks for taking the time.

No experience with the Charles Emmerson, but I have a pardner H&R
Basically an 870 knockoff

Cheapest and most accurate shotgun I ever fired

Won gun of the year from Guns & Ammo, so it’s got that going for it.

I’ve never shot an 1100 with a synthetic stock, but my wooden ones are heavy and don’t swing well. Guessing the SX4 will handle better and be lighter.

They are pretty nice guns iv never fired one but they have really good reviews. Iv seen them in person they look nice well built!

I grew up in a quail hunting family, all of us were very good . We all shot Remingtons , altho they were 1248`s and 1148`s they were dependable, and long lasting, never misfired. I still have the last one I bought, I gave my first "original'' 20 GA., that has thousands of rounds ran thru it to my son , still is in excellent condition. I never heard the term "don`t swing well' , that totally depends on the swinger .
EVER GOT 5 BIRDS ON A COVEY RISE ?
Happened more than once in our group, I even did it once. YES, w/ a Remington .
Sadly there aren`t hardly any quail around here any more, I haven`t heard one in about 5 yrs.

I’m familiar with the 1148 and 1248. I own two Sportman 58’s: a 12 and a 20. Both weigh less and thus, swing easier at least IMHO

I've owned many remingtons and Winchester's both in semi auto and pump. Took tons of deer and birds with both. For upland game and trap shooting, I've always been more partial to the Winchester semi autos. Great handling, and reliable guns
