I took the engine out of my duster and put it im my 84 ram. I swapped oil pans from center sump to rear sump. The engine has a windage tray. Will this cause a problem with the new pan?

Also installed an oil dipstick (the engine didnt have one...plugged with sealant) but the oil doesnt even read on the stick. The windage tray wouldnt have anything to do with that, would it? Were there different dipstick lengths for different year LA blocks?

Thanks guys!

You need a rear sump dipstick I believe.I have a rear sump dipstick I would sell cheap, I need a center sump stick...

correct, you need a truck rear sump oil indicator, as it needs to be longer. the windage try will not affect anything. The truck rear sump oil pans have a channel on the inside to guide the oil indicator to the rear of the sump...
