Just got my new 440 in yesterday runs great buy the oil pan is leaking between the timing chain cover and the pan (doesn't have a gasket between the pan and block just sealer). I am going to pull the pan tonight and clean everything up and put a new gasket in. It currently has a windage tray and I got the motor with the oil pan on so I have no idea how the windage tray attaches. Can someone give me some insight does it bolt on between the pan and block? Do I need 2 oil pan gaskets. Just wondering what to expect when I drop the pan and how many gaskets I need.

Does the windage tray attach anywhere else? Or just between the block and pan?

I'd recommend a thin film of the high temp. RTV (orange) on both sides of both gaskets. Before installing the windage tray to the bottom of the block check the fit of the tray in the pan with a gasket between the tray and pan flange. I've run into problems that the tray just hits the pan at the front where the pan transitions from the sump. If it hits the pan you have to do some bending to the tray so it sits in the pan properly.
