Will be installing mine next month, waiting for my dash to be painted. You have to install the clips that hold the stainless trim, before installing glass. you can find the pattern of the clips location online.

Buford is right. You need to drill the holes for the mounting clip screws before installing the gasket, and install the clips before installing the glass.

The actual procedures for installing these is in the FSM. Although I still called the pros to install those two pieces of glass, even when I did virtually 100% of my restoration. Looking back at it, I probably could have done that as well, but I'm glad that the pros installed them with no problems and no leaks.

I've done this 3 times. You'll need the 68/9 gaskets also. 67 didn't get a stainless reveal molding hugged up against the body so the bodywork at seams didn't need to be even close to perfect. Hold the stainless moldings to your a-pillar posts and sail panels where panel joins are to check their bodywork. The red 67 I have today is the worst of the three 67 notchbacks I have done.
Factory service manual says install the glass from top down. Yes they worked against gravity. We who install the glass from bottom up can't get the top of the gasket to lay to the headliner properly. You dont want to look in the rear view mirror and see the headliner cleats showing.
The pinch weld that the gasket sits on is called a fence. 68/9 owners have had the same problem so its not all about a difference in the 67 fence. There could be a difference in the thickness of the center web in aftermarket gaskets too. Either or, The trick is to trim the fence. Just a sixteenth all the way around makes a huge difference. The glass isn't going to fall out. There isn't a complete fence at the bottom of the windshield. Just a few little segments.
When I test fit the OEM 68 gasket, I had to trim a little more from the bottom corners of the 67 notchback rear fence to get the gasket tight into the corners. Those corners are at the top of a fastback rear glass so I'm not sure how the 68/9 gasket will fit there.

I am currently getting ready to do this conversion on my '67 fastback. What size drill bit are you guys using for the trim screws?

The OEM screws were special. They had a #8 shank with a undersize #6 head so the trim can fit in the clip with the screw head. Drill charts show 1/8 or 5/64 for #8 screw depending on material and thickness. Try 1/8 in a similar sheet metal. If aftermarket is providing #6 screws you'll have to back to the charts online.

Makes sense - thanks!

Does anyone have pics on front window clips installed on 68. Lower trim looks to installed wrong. Just bought the car. Just ordered new clips and trying to figure out. Does the round part of the clip goes up or flat part. I guess the clips I bought are correct.
Thanks

Thanks Alan. Just seems the clip sticks up a lot. I’ll pull off the lower trim as the top and drivers side looks good and flush. And just to clarify all of the front windshield clips are the same?
Thanks

I had to pull the windows on my 62 to change out the clips, rusted out or not.

The 67 Barracuda clips can be removed with the windows in?
