I'd like to prep my car before the windshield goes in. I have the old out and would like to clean up the tracks/frame area that the new rubber gasket/seal goes in. What do you all suggest to get all the old gunk and all out?

Also, any good or bad stories as to where I should buy the gasket/seal from? I've seen them on various places for $85 - $100 so far.

Thanks - George

Depends on what's on the metal.
If it's just old dirt and crap then a toothbrush works good.
If it's old window glue then a rag and some solvent (I'm sure I don't have to warn about solvent strength, but mineral spirits is pretty mild stuff.)

I got some seals and side windows parts from this place, and the quality is fantastic.

If you have to remove old sealer from the metal where the old windshield gasket was, 3M general purpose adhesive remover is the stuff.
