The gasket has an extra flap at the bottom of the windshield making it impossible to install the trim, is this supposed to be there? 73 duster

Well I just remembered the factory seal was in the trash and had the extra flap but I think I remember the lock strip doesn't go all the way around the windshield, maybe it doesn't go on the bottom? Right now I have the new lock strip all the way around the windshield.

I got the same gasket for my '72 (Vans?) and I just cut it off with a razor blade.
