Winter project carb rebuilds

-
So I discovered when putting carb back together that the rebuild kit doesn't come with internal fuel screens. I took a pic of my Eddy 1405 manual(#23 in pic)
The Carter 4295S I dont think came with them, should I buy a pair and install any way?

So the 2 internal screens I found out that I dont need as the Carters used the single screen at inlet fitting.

I laid out the pieces "drivers" side and "passenger" side and took a pic of orig accel pump with new one from kit. I left the old one soaking a bit too long, so no reusing that one.
Airhorn mounted....twice as I forgot the accel pump spring that goes in the bottom. The kit doesn't come with one so I reused the old one.
Knox dropped by to help as he knew I was having problems with connecting the linkages properly.
Hes teaching me but we are both stumped with linkages. Anyone have good reference pics?

Any idea where this spring goes? I took before pics but cant see where it goes. I know it goes on drivers side, but where?

Thanks Dave!
Pretty much done other than I need a new choke unloader (wont hold vacuum) so ill chk rock auto or ??? (open to ideas)
I have a couple linkage adjustments and get an elec choke for it as well. I had a ***** of a time getting large spring installed on pass side. Looks like a bit of excess play in there too. Not sure why.
Last pic is of bottom of primaries and T-Port I think??
Ajforms has a how to on it so I'll look into that as well.
Thanks
Steve

Thanks Dave. Here are a few pics. 1st pic is at "idle" choke closed.
2nd is WOT. You can see approx 80* of rotation.
3rd pic shows the the space where white pen tip is pointing.
Pieces I still need is fuel inlet screen (surprised not supplied in kit)
Choke unloader (Rock Auto doesnt have)

So you know mine is not the same carb but that linkage looks very similar.

You do have a little twist it appears in yours compared to mine (below) at WOT.
I do notice your spring has 6 wraps whereas I have 5. Loaded too much or different spring (?) I don't know. A picture of a 4611 I sold shows 5 wraps too.
Possibly spread the "U" out and / or add a thrust washer to take up space?

Yeah, that one more spring wrap(my 6 you mentioned)may be the issue. Here is a link to a thread I used for reference pics(as well as my own pics)
Any seen an AFB with an AVS top???
Looks like the spring in above thread has 6 wraps?

That "extra" spring wrap is probably the cause of the "twist". Ill try to see if I can relax the spring one more wrap, but I doubt it.
Ive ordered the choke pull off for the 273 as well as one for the 69 340 carb from Mikes carb parts. More $$ spent lol. People are asking stupid $$ for the pulloffs but Mikes wasnt bad, around $20

Thanks again Dave

The check ball can be used in place of the brass check valve under the Accelerator nozzles, for a quicker shot. I use the inlet screen if I have one but it is no big deal to leave it out. Don't change wraps on the secondary spring unless you think it has been modified. Looks Good.

Thanks 66! Ironic I was flipping thru this thread last night. My 340 carb is still in pieces, so I gotta wrap up another project lol. The 4295S is done and I tried it out on 273, but had some other non related issues so I pulled the carb to eliminate it as a source of my "woes" lol.
Thanks for the advice!
