Thanks! That Road Runner you are building looks really sharp. The paint looks smooth as glass on those two, nice job!!
Great tips!! Some nice work there! Here are the wheels for that Runner. The redlines are grooves, so that made them easy to paint. Here is a tip to get the chrome effect for the armrest bases. Cover the whole thing in foil and use touch up paint to do the arm rest pad. That way the handle and everything gets "chromed" and you don't have to fight with tiny pieces of foil, and let's not kid ourselves, even "chrome" paint just looks like run of the mill silver paint. Plus the foil is thin enough to pick up all the detail. In the photo I have one painted and one not painted.
Hey, sometimes it's a cool change to build something different now and then. You should have put a 440 six pak under the hood..:toothy10: The model came out nice anyway!!Well, it was only a matter of time till some jerk put one of these up, so I'll be that jerk. I built this for a friend for his birthday. (No, Really) This is his all time favorite car so I built him one. I know what you're thinking, a real friend wouldn't build a Chevy model for a friend. Well, when we were at Cordova Dragway last summer for the Nastalgia Fest, I tried hard to persuade him to the Mopar camp, but he was always sidetracked to the '69 Camaros. Well, if thats what he likes, so be it.
Those funny cars are great builds, those kits build up really nice. I agree, there is a lot of talent on this thread. I like seeing what everybody is building. Here's my Snake & Mongoose cars and a Prostreet AAR Cuda. I really like the work everybody does on these kits there is so much talent on this site. Keep up the great work everybody:cheers:
I wish I'd thought of that!! Then the Mopar and G.M. guys would both be mad at me!!8)Hey, sometimes it's a cool change to build something different now and then. You should have put a 440 six pak under the hood..:toothy10: The model came out nice anyway!!
I haven't bought kits on line myself, but type "model car kits" on your search engine and go from there. There are a lot out there, including collector stuff.(Read, expensive) Good luck. I get mine from a local mom and pop shop. Large selection and reasonable. In fact, if you are looking for a specific hard to find kit, let me know, this guy has the model car connections. Depending on what it is they can get pricey though. Check out model round up online. Cool site.Anybody know of a good online store to purchase mopar model kits?
Wow DRENO, I built that 1/12 scale Camaro way back in the late eighties, ended up blowing it up with fireworks with my friends. Thanks for the flashback, and nice job on the build!Good thread homecloned.I like model cars but haven't really built one for a lot of years.I'm amazed at the quality of these builds.I call them builds because I am sure a lot of time and sweat went into them. You guys have got some talent there! Thanks for the pics.8) This is all I have, fortunately it's not the first Camaro. This one is 1/12 scale.

This might upset the Ford guy's out there but like they say Dodge Different! Here's a different build I did last year 32 Ford with a supercharged slant 6 built it just to be different. The supercharger was scratch built as was the exhaust header. I've built a few of these 32's with 440's & Hemi's thought why not a /6 this time.I wish I'd thought of that!! Then the Mopar and G.M. guys would both be mad at me!!8)

That's pretty wild. Years back I made a Viper kit and grafted on a 70 Cuda roof on it before the real Viper coupe came out, I'll have to dig it out and snap a picture of it.Viper Car & Truck with a scratch built trailer
I PM'ed Joey a few days ago about a model forum. So far all I hear is crickets.....
