Recently I picked up a 8-3/4" rear end setup out of a early-70's Polara. I took the center section, and am going to sell the rest.

The housing has been sandblasted and primed. Axles are tapered unfortunately.

How much would this thing be worth? It is in great condition. I was going to use it in my car, but it has tapered axles, and it's just too expensive to buy aftermarket ones.

Would it be worth the time and money to go ahead and narrow it for an A-Body and then resell?

Not worth a lot. The problem is it costs so much to get one properly cut down you won't make much for your time and effort. And the tapered axles are junk unless you own a C-body and need them. Even non tapered C-body axles don't bring much over $50 a set usually. If it were me I'd sell the stuff as is rather than spend a bunch of time and gas money getting it narrowed just to make $75-100.
