My dart will only start in neutral. I'm sure its a simple fix but I dont know what it is. Any help is very appreciated.

There may be a neutral safety switch on the column that needs to be adjusted or replaced. I haven't done this on my '72 yet but have on other cars. The switch knows the location of the gear selector so that you cannot start the car in a gear accidentally. So it's only designed to let you start in N or P.

Welcome to the board.

I'd start by diconnecting the shifter from the transmission selctor arm and shoving the selector arm all the way into park. After that, attempt to start it again. That will tell you whether or not it is a shifter adjustment problem which is fairly common.

neutral safety switches are located on the transmission...on the driver side...look for a 3 prong connector..

usually if it will start in neutral but not park it is the selector arm as noted above..
