It was mentioned once in this thread, BALLAST RESISTOR!!!! was it changed????
 
yes, and from my earlier post the car is running. The mechanic that worked on the car inadvertently switched two spark plug wires and the points were out a little as well as the valves needing adjustment. All seems to be running pretty good.

Thank you for following up, I really appreciate all the advice I received on this forum the people are great.
 
hello, possible vacuum leak , and your sure points are good, try pulling Distributer and check it for shaft play, was it replaced when re-built ?.....I went through 3 new Distributers in 4 months until I got one that held up...the new re-man's suck......
