Any chance this thing ever runs again?

Could swear I saw that motor in all of it's crusted glory for sale on marketplace a few months back.

I bought two IND-24 331's...one in TX... one in OK. Named one Buddy Holly since it cam from a shop one block from the Buddy Holley Performing Arts Center in Lubbock, TX
 
Little tiny progress update, got the heads cleaned up and blasted, heads actually look pretty good!

heres more on my buds build , this was that block n crank i posted . more later with the webers mounted .racer43 look at these heads you can see the plug tube seals , thats a great way to keep those tubes from getting oiled around your plugs .

blasted, crack checked, all 16 guides replaced, and a coat of glyptal for good measure
 
the oil run back holes can be made a drill size larger . in the block as well . if your looking to improve the oil return system .
 
Not much to update, all the machine work is done, waiting on the customer to bring his repaired valve covers, been a few months allready....he doesn't seem very motivated

Also used in giant wind fans up in the NW to punch warm air through the orchards. Smudge pots provided the heat. Most, if not all are gone replaced buy bigblock Chevys. Just think, in a few years those will be replaced by LS motors. So, in keeping with not hyjackingthis thread I have a 241 pretty much in the same condition.
 
Since you’re the machine shop...any idea what some of this would cost? Just curious in case I ever find one like this...

Well, this one is for a freind, and we barter and trade all the time, so it's hard to price this one, but it needed EVERYTHING, including one sleeve, a minor crack repair in one deck, new seats, guides, rods resized, pins rebushed, crank ground, block and heads decked, and about a additional 8 hours of rust removal. It would probably be about 2k as a wild guess, and 2500 in parts, so 4500-5500 is possible for the long block. BUT, it's a 392, so worth it in my opinion.
 
Customer had someone who wanted it worse than he did, so he sold it before we finished it.
