I bought a 1991 roller 408 stroker a while back ( still on my engine stand, only dyno time on it ). It has "I" beam rods in it now ( can't remember the brand off hand ). I have new Scat "H" beam stroker rods sitting in the garage.
I've been going back and forth on weather or not to take it in and have the rods changed out.
The car will mostly be on the street, and maybe on the track on play day's.
I guess I'm just asking what would you do if you had the parts, time and money for a tear down, rebalance and reassembly of a zero time 408??
Thanks: Dennis.

what brand of I beam rods?.....Eagle SIR or Scat 4340?

the H beams will be heavier and require rebalancing the engine..

As I stated, I am not sure of the brand of the I beam rods, and aware of the rebalancing, the Scat H beams are 4340.

I think that would be the last thing I would be thinkin of.

how high u plan on revving it? what size cam? depending on brands I would not assume if u swap rods it would need a rebalance

Roller Cam: 243 int. 257 exhaust
Lift: 533 int. 519 exhaust
Separation: 107
Compression: 10.5 : 1
Heads: Indy X, ported w/ 2.05 intake valves.
Dyn: 476hp @ 5300 RPM. 513 torque @ 4500 RPM.

Did it throw a rod on the dyno?

Nope, just wondering if I would gain anything by changing them, or just sell my Scat H beam rods.....

Rods you have in there will be more than strong enough to handle what you're gonna throw at 'em.
Save them for the next build or sell them.
