IMO, theres always options if the problem is just storage. You can even just pay and get a storage bin to put it in for now. Is it pricey?? Maybe so, but cheaper than buying your next project!!. Why not just cover it up in the driveway at home!! Or move it around the back of the house out of sight!!
Old lady neighbors garage?? Will work for storage!! I once rented a garage that was in the yard of a rental house. Garage was for rent, units in the house were for rent...heck, you could've rented the lawn mower if you needed it and had the $$
