My buddy said I had 4.10's in the rear of my Barracuda. I just got it up on stands today, and turned the pinion to check. It spun 5 revs for 1 rev of the tire, and its a big tire (275/60B14). I'm guessing 4.88's. Might just have to pull the center section and verify.

You should be able to get a LOT closer than that.

You have limited slip? Carefully count the turns and estimate the fractional turn

Who knows? you might have 5.17's, or some aftermarket ratio, 5.13, 5.38, ??

It is probably a 4.89 gear ratio. I have a 741 Centre section from an early A body in this ratio. Came factory equipped.

Just pop the center out and look on ring gear. Only way to know for sure.

5 revs aren't 4.8 revs, 5 revs are 5 revs, so you have 5.1 most likely, 4.8 revs would be 4.88 and just short of making 5 revs.

So take into consideration the slack in the carrier and pin and your 5 revs are most likely 5.13

5.13's! Congrats. I've always felt a gnarly 340 would do VERY WELL with those short legs.
