Wrong Head gasket?

86 360.In the first pic you can see the upper right coolant passage.When i put the gasket on the second pic that passage is block,if i flip the gasket the passage is open,but the dowes dont line up.Same thing with the outher gasket,and same thing on the left bank.What up this is the gasket i got.I would think she gona over heat with that passage block off.

It's the right gasket. The water/coolant is to flow into the block, straight through past the cylinders to the back and then up through the cylinder heads back to the radiator through the top hose. If the holes were open, the cooling wouldn't be as efficient , coolant would bypass going all through the block and just go up the front through the heads and out the top hose leaving the rest to heat soak/overheat.
 
Put it on how the dowels line up, and quit overthinking it man. :D
You got the right ones.
 
If that passage was NOT block your water pump wound not push coolant to the back of the block/ head.
It normal.
 
that got me too the first time I did them on my 360 - as mentioned above, you're good - get after it!
 
Rule of thumb when in doubt is part number usually faces up.
