Zombie Dart! '72 Dodge Dart

if you need a set of bucket for headlights, i got a few good sets, but i am unsure what exact pieces you are talking abiout. the chrome piece that holds the headlight in, or the actual bucket that holds the chrome trim on? lo,l let me know as i have the full setup . send me that address again, and i will ship them out tommorow

Lovin' the build. Keep up the hard work and stay at it. What other parts do you still need? I may have a few laying around.

You're in luck! I have a few coils laying around. I've got 2 freshly (I mean, 3-week-old) rebuilt wheel cylinders for 9" drums. If that's what you need, let me know. I'll send 'em to you and you can concentrate on the battery and shoes.

I'll see what I can dig up in the way of headlights. Do you need buckets or bezels?

Whoops! Bezels. 340plot already gave me some buckets and the chrome for em last time when i saw em. I always get em mixed up!
And really?! I can really use those, I am pretty damn sure I have 9" drums. That's be awesome dude!!

I probably may need a coil and 2 other wheel cylinders and shoes for all four. And as I said, some lights and headlight bezels which are impossible to find

Did someone ask for more pictures?! Cuz here they are!

If I'm not mistaken, the plugged line in the fourth-to-the-last picture is an A/C line and won't affect how the car runs. The one spliced into the hose that runs from the PCV valve won't affect it, either, as long as it doesn't leak. Even then, it'll be negligible if your crankcase ventilation system is working properly. I'd spend $1.50 on a foot of hose and eliminate the "T" in the line.

I don't have wheel cylinders for the front end. New ones for 10" drums are pretty expensive compared to the rear 9" setup. Advance Auto sells rebuild kits for 10" brake cylinders for less than $4 a set (for some reason they're cheaper than kits for the 9" brakes), and a brake cylinder hone is $11. Spend an extra $4 on bleeder valves, just for good measure. You'll use brake fluid for cutting oil with the hone. Bickity-BAM! You can stop your car!

PM me your address and I'll send the wheel cylinders for the rear on Tuesday.

Dorman's help line has trim rings for the headlights for $7 and some change, both sides included. The part number is 42408.

The headlamps themselves are Sylvania part number H6024 XV and are more than likely on the shelf at your local autoparts store. They'll run you about $16 a pop. Dorman Help! also has adjuster screw/nut setups for a couple of bucks.

It's a little hard to see, but by the looks of your pictures, the buckets are already in the car. You need lamps, rings and bezels.

mike, you need to take a pic of the front of the car, then photoshop it, and circle what you are talking about. i know you need the 72 dart grille headlight bezels. what else do you need? i am sure that the buckets are in place already. other than that, the only thing i can think that you are talking avout is the chrome pieces that hod the headlight to the buckets. am i correct? if so, do not buy a set, i told you i will send you a set that i have off another car.lol

The black bowl looking things that use the chrome to hold the headlight set in place are wrong, they are for a '70 Duster. They wont fit. Neither do the chrome rings. Might wanna send a set with all the other stuff you are sending me, I can really use em hasta pronto so I can be on the road

And at Raleigh Rocket, PM SENT!:-D

that is all i have, is another set off of a duster. but i did not know there is a difference between the duster and dart buckets or the trim ring that mounts to the buckets. they are whatcame on the car when i got it.

Its all good. The hole spacing is completely different so they wont fit unless you rough em up! Does that parts dart you have have em? and could you send an ignition switch tomorrow as well just incase?

that dart parts car is missing the fenders, and the buckets with them. sorry. yea, ill send you that box in the morning

Looks like it needs alot of work but you of all people have shown that you have plenty of ambition so good luck on the build!

I don't see any problem with 340plot selling it.....it went to a good home with a young gun who has the desire to get it back in shape....not like he is going to cut it up and put a 12 ft tall wing on the back and fat tires and a folgers coffee can for exhaust lol.

good luck on fixing her up man and be sure to post pictures of everything as you go!

Oh I am!! If you look closely at the engine bay shot, the altenator is missing:-D. And me and chafin talked on the phone and he is very happy I have it!

Speaking of Folgers cans, my dad's buddy in high school welded one with a spark plug in it on the exhaust of a hearse and it shot a flame 6ft out of the tail pipe! Eventually, someones hood got scorched and he had to remove it by force of the law:toothy10:

mike if you want i can help you change those points over to electronic im gonna look today and see if i still have those extra headlight buckets i think i still do there from a 70 dart so they should fit
Terry

If you could get em in the mail today or tomorrow, that'd be awesome!!! I really need a set pronto

Alright, Mikey boy, I dug and dug and tore the shop to pieces but couldn't find any pretty orange wheel cylinders. I have these from my super secret squirrel stash that you can have. I think the 40-year-old worn in look is more "undead" anyways.

They've been properly honed, have all new Reybestos internals and dust boots and new bleeder valves. I got your address PM and I'll ship 'em out tomorrow on my lunch break, so keep an eye on the mailbox for the next day or two. I also found a box with some springs, seals and boots that I'm sending just for those "oh, dang" moments.

Anything else you can think of before I get these things in the mail? Try me, I may just have it...

I need a windshield wiper desperately and shoes for the brakes. Per chance would you have headlight bezels? like the plastic part of the grille. I would even take a set of 70-71s if they would fit with the '72 grille off someone and pay them for them soon as I need a set. I hate to ask for those though for free or even at all cuz they are hard to find for all 3 years. The only other thing I could think of would be a hose to elimante that T-junction or maybe even the Carb bowl nipple vent for a 2 barrel, im not sure what mine is but I know I dont have one

What would black body side stripes look like???
Could you tell me if I have 9" drums?

Thanks so much dude for decoding my fender tag, you didn't have to

That code decoded says stripes but it was actually for the vinyl mouldings not stripes. Take a picture of the drums and if the top of the spindle arm is curved and funny looking then its a 9" drum.
