I honestly don't know really. I just don't think 4k stall on a stock cam will work that great. I'll save that when I put my ported speedmasters and a cam in it.
Oh yeah, stock cam okay

It's funny, I was sure I screwed up the cam trigger wiring but its working perfectly. The crank trigger on the other hand is giving me problems. I'm not getting any pulses, so I'll have to go over the wiring with a fine tooth comb. I had re-loomed that part of the harness and I must have switched some pins on accident.

That’ll make you want to pull your hair out, one by one.

I'm just happy I don't have to pull the oil pan or trans for the fifth time. The diagnostic LEDS on the ecu tells me the sensor is over a space in the wheel and it never triggers, this makes me think I have the signal wire pinned wrong. I'll probe the pins tomorrow and get to the bottom of it.

I switched some wires around and re-set/centered the crank sensor. I'm getting crank and cam signal so now when I spin it over it's showing RPM!

Next step is to mess with the PWM fuel pump setting. It'll blip on with key to run, but doesn't kick on like it should with key in start. I'll mess with the settings in the holley software. Right now I have it set to activate on battery voltage but I'll try RPM over 10. I wish there was an internal activiation on 12v ignition but there isn't one and I don't want to waste an input on that.

Fuel pump output has been figured out and the fuel lines have been ran. Just need to finish up a couple small items and I'll be able to start the motor.

I also decided to change the transmission plan, I'll be putting in an 8HP70 that I just picked up.

Whoa that’s a big change.

Yeah a little, it’s not uncharted territory though so I think I can get it done in a reasonable amount of time. When it came down to it, I really wasn’t happy with just three forward speeds as I want to be able to drive on the highway comfortably. I also want a transbrake. Everything I want is available in an 8HP and an aftermarket controller. To get all that in a 727 I’m looking at like $1500 for a TB valvebody and $3000 for a gear venders.

That 8HP70 is an amazing transmission. I had one in my Jeep GC. Loved it. I keep seeing them pop up locally for around $5-600 and it’s real tempting. The 8HP90s are more desirable, coming from Hellcats they can handle more torque but they’re crazy expensive. The Sound German Engineering controller seems to be the popular go-to. Can’t wait to see how it works out for you.

What are you using to control it?

Right now I’m leaning towards a Turbo Lamik TCU, initial cost outlay seems a little more than the other two I’ve researched but it has more of the features I'm looking for. It completely replaces the stock TCU in the trans and allows transbrake, bump, and even wiring in a "clutch" pedal to emulate a manual trans if wanted.

The SGA seems nice but you're limited to the stock TCU and it's functions, and you have to buy $500 of HPtuners stuff to tune it yourself. The 8HP90 would be ideal but there are guys in Australia and Europe that are running 800hp I6 motors in front of the smaller 8HP45s, so I think the 8HP70 will hold up fine for my power level.

That’s really encouraging. I’ve seen the Turbo Lamik also. Popular with the BMW crowd. Now I’m frothing at the mouth thinking about swapping my 727 for the 8HP. lol

Do it! JVX racing has conversion flexplates for both the LA and magnum.

Forgot to loop the trans line, sprayed everything down with trans fluid, so that’s fun. Chased down one small oil leak and a couple fuel leaks. All is good now. 75psi oil pressure so looking good on that front too.

Put coolant in it and let it idle a little bit longer tonight, got it up to 160* and got it down to 850-900 RPM. I think there's a small air leak as I cant get it down any lower than that. Chasing down leaks, passenger side valve cover has a small drip and the water pump housing is leaking too, which is unfortunate. I'll remedy that tomorrow or Thursday and install the fans.
