This IS a very interesting topic. About 10 years ago, I found an old drag car here in AZ that was raced by the owner's grandfather in the 70s. It was a 1968 Dart GT that had the front dog house cut off and had a 1970 front end on it. Seems to be the opposite of what was mentioned in the first few comments.
