I will say the return walk from the swap meet area thru the Nats with the $285 price tag predominantly displayed was priceless.
 
Console and dash are just too cool. I have a thing for lightning rods because I had some in high school (and high school is FULL of good memories).
I can't decide on the grill, always loved shark tooth grills but the Valiant looks more custom with the mods you have in mind. The car is over the top and I know it will be cool no matter what you do in the grill area!
 
I thought it ws a cup holder for when were in the parking lot!

I was checking the prices on Ebay for a old Hurst Lightning rod set up and they were out of sight and needed rebuilt and refinished to look worthy of showing off. so I went this route instead, I remember them from Hurst Olds in the 80's (high school days) and thought they were very cool...I still need to add the power window switch's to the console before painting it.

The grille will be a debate till I get both finished and see how they look in the car.
 
Got back from the Florida coast yesterday and had some really cool Billet Power Window switches waiting for me so today I had some time to get them mounted to the Billet shifter plate. I think the console is finally for paint and finishing.

Thanks John..... but the Shifter plate will be painted but the Power Window bezel will probably remain as is to go with the contrasting colors with some Aluminum mixed in.

Don't you mean 2 or 3 hundred...I just added to the list by adding the Power Window and I'm not done yet.

And then my 2-50 Air Conditioning showed up yesterday.....I spent the day doing some more wiring and bending up the rear axle brake lines, nothing picture worthy just passing on info for the build timeline.

Minor change to the mounting location of the Power Window switch's, I just wasn't 100% happy with mounting to the Shifter plate, I'll have to cut another plate to eliminate the holes I drilled and while I'm at it tighten up the gaps between the levers and the plate for a tighter fit. I think it looks better with the switches in the fiberglass console.

That console has such a clean look. Mine looks like a small city by the time I got done adding levels! An early pic before cup holders, arm rest, yada yada... it got quite a bit longer.

I've got this Aluminum one doing nothing but taking up space....it needs finished most of the hard work is done if your interested.

Looks good. I appreciate the offer but mine is too far along now. All body work is done armrest/lid pad is done, it just needs to be painted. It did get better looking but I just didn't need to get as carried away as I did and the 4 speed made it fun to figure out.
I'll post pics on my thread when it's done instead of high jacking yours again.:D
 
1st I want to say, Awesome build.. I am currently in the process of building a 70 Gen 3 Duster. I have since gotten several ideas I might ummm borrow O:) I have been reading and only made it to page 110 so far but I have a question, and I might have missed the answer in a previous page.

On you wheel, tire and rearend set up. If you dont mind me asking. What did your rearend end up being WMS wise? love the look of your wheel and tire combo, I was going for that look, but I didnt get my measurements right apparently haha. I need to get narrowed more.

I am using 55 inch WMS without rotors, 18x10 with 4.5bs and still have 1-1.5 lip room on factory lip. I just dont look deep enough. I did a mini tub kit from US Car tool and I am using the Hotchkis spring kit.

Any help will be appreciated and I am not trying to jack your thread O:)
