What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Thanks guys!

Still working out some carb tuning issues. At 1/4 throttle, I get what sounds to me like a bit of backfiring through the mufflers, kind of a popping noise. When I give it just a bit more throttle, it goes away, but then I'm accelerating way past any speed limits quickly...

My timing is dead nuts, so I think it has to do with my carb. Running a Holley 650 DP.

I plan on finishing up a few things from the winter storage and get that 572 fired up and running. Hoping that will happen over the upcoming weekend. Almost time for some cruising and maybe a little track time just for fun....

I took her out for about a 75 mile drive....ran like a top!
My little 318 runs awesome. ....
They were calling for rain, but it never rained....beautiful cool weather about 70 degrees....
Car was all shiny and polished....thumbs up all over the place
GREAT drive...loved every minute of it!

Today I got my 68/69 SS polished glass trimmers installed on my 67 notch. Got the SS door and rear 1/4 trim installed as well.
I have decided to install another 1 1/5 degree pinion shim down on my spring perches while I have the car up.
Waiting on an order from Holly to do some tuning on my carburetor.

I don't hate any American muscle!

Went to show and enjoyed some driving time!

Damn yellow pollen everywhere though except the inside as I kept the windows up!

Actually a couple of days behind... refurbed the front end with Moog and PST parts. Boxed the LCA's. Had Firm Feel rebuild the steering box. Pulled the steering column, painted the firewall mounting bracket. And swapped out the stock steering wheel for a Grant. Lastly, get it aligned later this week.

While the front end was out of the car I dealt with a spacing problem. the castle nut on the idler arm had cut a groove in one of the header tubes. Pulled the header and welded in a half-pipe to gain clearance. Even though the header hadn't broken through, with the repair the exhaust is noticeably quieter.

I used the battery from my Barracuda to attempt to start my 1986 Honda Spree. The Honda hasn't ran in 6 years but ran well back then. Now I have a project for this weekend.

Shot some orange sealer on the last areas of completed/blocked bodywork last night. The car is now ready to come off the rotisserie!

Today, nothing. But tomorrow I'll be dropping the rods and pistons into the 5.9 that I'm building for my Dart. And maybe get the pan on as well. Got the crank and new camshaft in last Saturday.
Here's a couple pics of how she's looking.

put on new ESPO springs and a set of Bilsteins all the way around on the GTS then took it for a ride. No more tire rub with the 255/60/15's so now I can mount my new MT's. Wanted to get the rubbing stopped first.

First in-car fire up was last night.

Today will be wiring the dual fans to the Dakota Digital controller and tiding up some wiring. I'd love to get it out on the road for the first time in two years, but it's raining and 500 hp and drag radials are making me think twice...
