What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

I had to pull the 1/2 inch spacer off. It turns out even though the hood clearance seemed okay at first, I had barely 1/16 at the back of the air cleaner below the hood bracing. I put the 1/4 inch fiber gasket on and now I have over 1/4 inch minimum.

I packed my "cool can" today and did errands for a couple hours to test a vapor lock theory.
The result seems to suggest that i use that thing more often.....

Remember, as YOU have said many times...without pictures or video, it didn't happen!!
Yeah Yeah. Haven't had time yet. Your like 99th in line to poke at me. Now serving customer #7 :) (Radio Silence) Customer #8

Hey George ,you run a machine shop up there ? Sure been building a lot of engines there !

Lol, Thanks Al,

Not running a machine shop here . . yet.
Just have a lot of engines sitting around that needed to be gone through. Been so hot here this Summer, so good time to do them in the shop with the AC going.

Building 3 mostly stock 360s with the 340 grind cams here lately. The silver 360 was a .040 over buildable engine that I got down in Melbourne Florida at the Mopar Swap 5 years ago, it was for sure getting time to finish that one.

Got 2 core 318s to build yet. Got a set of factory 9.2:1 1968 pistons that go on the full floater rods. This particular build is getting the 302 closed chamber heads, 340 cam, and the much sought after LD4B intake manifold. My friend Brian wants this build to be an exact duplicate to his '69 318 in his '72 Duster. Performs nicely.

Brian's 1969 318
302 Heads, 340 Cam, 9.2:1 factory pistons.

Yep LD4B intake too

Takes a lot of time to get everything cleaned up. Have cam bearing tools and valve grind tools that were donated to us from an old mopar dude just before he passed. So I am sure he is smiling looking down on us knowing they are being put to good use.

So yeah, do my own heads, polish the crankshafts, hone the cylinders, pretty much everything done in house here.

Brian built a high buck 340 for one of his cousins at his place in Farmington. And also a 1967 383 that is going in our friend's '67 Dart.

So Yeah, we are doing some engine stuff here lately. Built the 318 in my truck too a year ago, like that setup a lot.

Engine Run Stand has been working out nice to break in the engines once they are built.

I like the run stand, can final tune the engines and address any leaks that may show up. All set to go then.

Test Run Stand for carbs and ignition testing, been having fun with that too.

Thanx

I suppose tomorrow Ill pull the rally dash out try and figure out why the oil pressure guage isn't working...

I know the feeling. I need to pull my dash, bit it doesn't seem that long since I did it and I'm not feeling it. The odometer stuck turning over to 19,000 (119,000) I'm sure!

Don't get me wrong, yesterday I removed an inline fuel filter from before my electric fuel pump, installed a new one before the carb, and straightened up tail pipes. Had a great time...but the dash again, ugh, lol.

I got my newest toy in the garage and going through all the goodies that came with it !

Picked up this nice red and black leather-wrapped wheel from a friend. Should go well with the red car! Hope to be able to get it installed before the Mopar Nats so I can hook up my horn. (Don't all 11 sec cars have a horn? LOL...)

Put the TTI exhaust on the car this weekend. Man this stuff fits like a glove and looks great too. It mounts solid and I can't wait to hear it rumble!!!
