Their family has 6 kids (5 boys, 1 girl) and none of the boys picked up the hobby.
THIS is what I picked up from the original post.
If I were the father, I'd be sadly disappointed in my kids.

They’re all good people. I was friends with most of my wife’s brothers before even meeting my wife (not sure what that has to do with cars). The opportunity is there. I think some have some of the kids have some interest, but haven’t had the time money, motivation, dedication (blah, blah, blah) to jump in.THIS is what I picked up from the original post.

Did some tinkering today.
Started mocking up a run stand/organize motor and related pieces for install. We mocked it up with an extra slant 6 flywheel. Hoping to find a 273 flywheel—if I can’t I’m the next couple weeks, I will have the slant 6 flywheel modified, or fork over the big bucks for a new RAM flywheel.View attachment 1715920598
Also verified that my o/d trans in the car does not have the smaller 307 bearing. Look out for some creativity on the transmission side of things.
That’s the plan. Plus reading Passon’s book, a few times.Get a small front bearing main case and swap it in.
Didn’t really intend to scrape the entire bay with a razor blade…but it’s kind of like that itch you can’t scratch… I’ll probably give up at some point…

I definitely should have thought of this before you said something… you saved me hours of work. I spent 20 minutes this evening and made good progress!Power washing will get most of that black paint off quick.
Thank you!Nicely done!
Great progress!273 has landed. Got it in right as the rain started.
Took the hood off, and installed motor and trans together. Never pulled or installed a motor, and I did both by myself. Was pretty challenging, but got it done. Now I can check that off the bucket list.
