70 318 with 340 internals/Cyl Head

So the answer would be.............323 cubes..........
Yes
possible very low compression,
Yes
better crank (good for 5-7 psi?),
Good for 5-7 psi? On what? Changing the crank material is for strength. This adds no LSI anywhere on anything!
could possible bored to have a 340 piston,
I call BS on anyone saying a 318 can go to a 330 bore size.
That’s 3.91 to a 4.04!!! That’s .130 over. I do t think so!
if not would require decking and/or some upgraded pistions to run well.
Depends on the target of the build. You can have a fine running engine @ 7.5-1 ratio.
Better flowing head than a 318 stock piece with 2.02/1.65 valves.
Let’s do some math here. 3.94 bore size, 2.05 + 1.60 = 3.65 which leaves .029 to have clearance for the valves to operate.
Ummmmmmm, not a great idea.
Besides, in all honesty, I HIGHLY doubt you’ll need a 2.05 valve in a .030-318.
Is this recommended other than the comp concerns?
What is your concern specifically?
Not asking for hp estimates, usage projections, convertor sizing, DCR, etc, etc, etc.
Roger that Sir!
It is what it is. It in the car. Here is a photo. Basic SBM. Some may be able to id the head, not me. That will happen Wed's and I'll have a comp gage in hand.
The engine below looks good. Headers looks like standard 1-5/8. I still can’t tell what intake that is though.

Here it is inside the Engine Bay. Pick Away!!!!

Ugh! Garbage intake! RPM it!

:mob: Still can’t see the drivers header! :poke:

Dang it! Hit reply with the fat finger syndrome!

Engine looks good though. Got a picture of the car?

Dump the old school Torker when you can.

As long as bearing clearances and end play of the crank are good, adding a super charger should be OK, no problem.
5-7 psi from a super charger is indeed about right for the OOTB parts supplied

So…. Supercharger and a carb or FI?
Fish,

I'm comparing a stock 1.8x 318 valve to a 2.02 340 valve diameter. Cmon Man!
You wrote down a number, 2.05. I just did the math.
Now your changing goal posts on me.

Do you work for MSNBC?
I’d laugh at this… because it’s funny as hell, but since your now making a political twist to things and opening up a can of worms, look in the mirror on BS talking and dumb *** goal post moving while twisting the facts and interjecting horse **** on what there think/talking about without actually saying it but leaving it to be assumed by the person replying which he will not and even more so because of the fruitless and wimpy roast attempt he made up front in the thread he started on not knowing a ******* thing but had holes of a working crystal ball.

LMAO DUDE!

You have just shown yourself as a woke *** democrat!!!!
With no ability to swim in the shi mess he started!!!

LMAO!!!!

Are we going to get back to the facts and actually help you out or are you going to proceed on being a dick?

That’s it! I’m cursing you out right now!!!!

Where is the compare? This is what you wrote!
And my reply

Dang dude! Your throwing stones at your own glass house.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.................No I'm a Republican. Your twisting of things and overlooking details and commenting negatively, reminds me of the douchebag media.

I’m trying to help but your twisting and moving goal posts as I have shown and can do a few more times in YOUR OWN THREAD!

Since this is what I see as a snowflake melting, I’m out and wish you the best.

I hope in the future your much more direct and precise in your questions and direction of your questions.

Best of luck with your car & build.

I’m out.

Is the balancer neutral balance? That is the only thing you are going to be able to see. Guy says this and that is inside the engine but no way to know other then if its neutral balance or not and head castings. Receipts for any parts or machine shop?

If you like the car and it runs good buy it. I would be far more concerned about hidden rust excessive bondo ect ect ect.

The Car had a complete frame on restoration. Minus the exterior paint. Well on the rear quarters it was matched. I'll get up a pic. New stock suspension w/SS springs, new fuel system, new interior, alum radiator, AAR Hood, new floor pan, 8 3/4 SG w/ 3.55, rear 1/2 quarters, old school slotted alum wheels on BFG's, new brakes, you get the idea. 59k miles if I remember. Paint on front fenders has some petina. Totally straight and is a turn key car.
