Yeah, makes sense you would use forged pistons i was just wishing out loud that KB would update the inexpensive hypereutectic kb167's
It's a damn shame they dont offer modern rings even on the hypers. I have seen the metric rings pick up 18 HP compared to the 1/16 stuff

Stock stroke for sure. A solid roller if you had the parts for it. I just bought a set of solid rollers and will be putting my 318 back together in the near future

This will be up for sale after testing, so trying to keep the cost reasonable. Solid flat tappet most likely. This isn't a "set on kill" type build

I'd imagine it is probably be quite a bit more compared to the 5/64 pack.
I am currently finishing up a stroker 340 with the kb416 .040 hypereutectic with the 5/64 ring pack. I am shocked at the torque necessary to turn it over by hand, (30ftlbs)

Naaa, I'm just gonna build this one with the speedmasters, dyno it and then put it up for sale. If I'm lucky I'll get my money back for parts used, and maybe 5 bucks a hour labor
Are they gonna be ootb or you gonna do some porting to them ?
Either way should a kewl build.

I'll do a little port work, nothing major, mostly a nice valve job, getting the port volume and cross section matched up to the cubic inches and cam choice.

Sounds good, should be perfect for Teen Rodney.

i like the idea of it being stock stroke and not a bunch of expensive or exotic parts. here's the something that is easy to replicate: bomb proof bottom end, affordable top end, and room for a little improv to suit the end use.

keeping it flat tappet makes it more within reach for the average joe, too.

can't wait to see this go live.

Stock stroke. But I’d like to see the build set on kill. W2’s and a big solid roller. Oh well.

still be fun to see. :x

I would vote for stock stroke. The 318 does respond well to your very basic modifications.
