    A727 DipStick length?

I would measure from the top of the Boss (hole), where the tube seats, down to the fluid. I have a narrow ruler that will fit down the hole. I would compare this measurement to the outside measurement of the top of the hole to the top of the pan. All this would be done with the tube out.

    A727 DipStick length?

Well, I called Hughe's transmission tech., (which I should have done first) and the tech. guy said, "the fluid should be level with the top of the trans. pan, cold". He stated, " start the car in cold in natural" and check it. He also said that this level would put it between 1/2" and 1.000"...

    A727 DipStick length?

In the picture at the point of the pen, just above the "O" ring is where the tube seats in the transmission. From this point how far to the "Full mark"? In the attached picture the full mark is right even with the end of this tube or 1.125" from where it seats to the full mark. (end of the tube).

    A727 DipStick length?

SB... I believe the distance that the DS sticks out of the end of the tube, where it seats, will tell me what I need to know. (distance from the tube where it seats in the transmission to the ADD mark and FULL mark )

    A727 DipStick length?

Yes. I figured if I knew what the correct length was supposed to be I could figure out if the Lokar would work. I could take a reading on what I have now, replace it with the Lokar and see if I come up with the same reading. But then again I'm not positive that the one installed now is correct...

    A727 DipStick length?

I have a hughes 67-TF8 Street/Strip ( A727) trans. and want to install a Lokar SS flex dipstick so I can mount it on my firewall. The current locking dipstick is down by my headers and I burn myself when checking fluid level. (also the previous owner made the comment that he wasn't sure if the...

Idle... Based on the replies (thanks to all) I would like to try the 180' thermostat, but again, what kind/model etc. ?

    Thermostat recommendation.

The old rad. was also a BeCool. There is no shroud. The fans are the same, in back of the rad. and are governed by a controller. When I go looking for a thermostat they ask, what make, model and engine size? Doesn't matter, the engine didn't come in the car and the intake is not stock either...

    Thermostat recommendation.

The engine is a Magnum 360 (5.9L). I just installed a new aluminium BeCool radiator. Is it possible that there was an air pocket in the radiator when I filled it after installing new? Before the new radiator the notest it got was 190', now it climbs to 210-212'.... the problem i'm having...

Good article! But won't the higher heat cause dieseling?

    Thermostat recommendation.

Looking at changing my thermostat to a 160'. The one I took out looks to be made by Flowkooler Robertshaw? It is stamped 160' but the car runs way too hot at 200'. (i'm running twin electric fans). It has a 2.250' dia. flange. .035" thk. My intake is a Mopar M-1 single plane. Any ideas? Or...

    What is it?

It sounds like I cannot easily change the clips?

    What is it?

Why would a Dart WS fit a Duster? What is the difference in WS? Also. How are the WS clips held in place?
  15. Dan B.

    What is it?

Ok, got it..... The glass guy was here last night and installed the WS. I looked at the sticker on the glass and it said, "Dodge Dart" The number on the lower right hand corner is DW00759. So, evidently the Duster and Dart use the same WS.
