Still looking. I've sent private replies to a few of you fellows, but haven't heard anything back.
The unit I got to replace it is the wrong type; my /6 Dart is looking for the kind which has a "twist action" via the horizontal rod through the firewall. Anyone?
Heh. It's my silly name for El Cerrito, which is in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Pretty sure the throttle linkage is a straight rod, yes; I'm passing these great responses on to the mechanic so we can make a decision here. Once again, FABO comes through! Thanks, all.
Just found a receipt indicating the rebuild in 1991 was Holley OEM #3058 (so, if my research is right, a 1920). I can only hope that was the right one.
I'll have to ask the mechanic what it is, specifically; it's likely original, as my late father's copious service records only indicate it was rebuilt in 1991 (225,000). Engine is slant 6, and I think it's the 170. Current mileage is about 335,000...
Had a real scary near-disaster when the valve failed on my 1965 Dart's carburetor. Nice, big fountain of gas spraying upwards and sideways, and flooding the engine (and the compartment) with fuel. Scary. Good thing fumes didn't hit the distributor before shut-off...
My mechanic hopes to...
My luck is running out in our local wrecking yards. Does anyone have these S10 or Blazer (1980s) door seals which can work in my 1965 Dart?
Also desperately seeking a blue dash pad, used condition OK if it's not cracking/broken/etc. Also defrost vents. Indeed, I could use a replacement on...
Hello, all:
I would love to find replacement door seals for my blue 1965 4-door sedan without laying out the $$$ for repro new. Anyone have any with just light wear they'd part with? I need front and back. I don't mind some tears or dings if they're not completely shredded and disintegrating...
Unsure what the actual part name is that I am looking for, but the trunk lid of my 1965 4-door Dart is held up by two long 1/4"-ish diameter rods which cross in an "x" pattern and have "hooks" on the ends which fit through the lid's hinge.
The rod which attaches to the left hinge has snapped at...
Been searching threads (and the internet in general) and getting overwhelmed and confused by options. Trying to find a medium blue perforated headliner for a 1965 Dart 4-door; eBay searches don't seem to turn up the correct color in this style, and there's so many retailers to choose from.
Can...
Thanks for the reply, Bill. And yes, Sacramento is plenty local enough for me...
The stitching in the head liner is what has disintegrated over time, not the fabric itself, interestingly; but surely it is too weak to hold any new stitches. Can anyone recommend a good/reliable...
Greetings, all. Very much looking for these interior parts to match a blue 1965 Dart:
• dash pad
• driver's side armrest
• defroster vents
And for the exterior:
• candy cane trim, driver's side most urgent
• chrome-plastic "rings" for both tail light bezels
And...
