It's not always about ride height, but how the suspension feels, and if the springs are original they should be replaced after being bounced on for 40 years. You can end up with a height the same as you have now but with a better ride.
You can get the car about 1" lower if the new springs are...
Those are good points Chief.
I would do the rear before a converter, or both if affordable. 3.55 would be real nice for all around drive-ability, either 8 1/4" rear or 8 3/4"...probably the latter because he might want to keep the small bolt pattern to match the front small bolt KH discs...
Yes that's what I see...there IS a freeze plug there...it's just that it wasn't a nice new brass one! :violent1:
Fresh ones are cheap insurance and IMO it's best to use some sealant around them before installing.

737jetdr, you mentioned McCleod's #1302, their website lists this part as a bolt on hydraulic bearing for a GM BorgWarner T5.
They list a slip on bearing #1400-30 as the one for a Ford BorgWarner T5.
Just wondering what your experiences are with them, or anyone else who has used either of...

can't remember which year they stopped the full floating pistons and forged crank, it was the 230hp 2 barrel motor I think till '72
Or this adjustable pushrod from Doctor Diff

I am using it with AndyF's late model adapter, and an 82 Dodge truck aluminum master cylinder and it works fine, but I think I could have stayed with the original single pot pushrod and adjusted the brake light switch...
The Moser axles stick out +1/4" on each side vs. the SBP axles. This could be an issue with certain backspace wheels, but shouldn't be a problem unless you are running tight tire clearances already.
My brakes came from 89 Dakota and 85 5th Ave. They are 10x2.5"
Yes, that is an option if you want to stay with your old brakes, just redrill the drums. My SBP 10x1.75" drums were bad so I changed to the BBP 10x2.5". Moser can also make axles to work with your redrilled SBP brakes but you have to tell them what brakes you are using. Next time I will call...
Call Cass (Doctor Diff - http://www.doctordiff.com ) and get him to make the axles for you. He can make them any length depending on bearing choice and center section (with or without thrust spacers, thrust block, etc). My guess is that if you are still using tapered adjustable bearings on the...
