i have a 383 duster, just got it running, and am putting it together for a street car. i take it there are no exhaust kits for this setup?
what are you all running on street cars with fender well headers?
this car will not be a daily driver by any means, but it would be nice to cruise down...
fired up after switching the crank gear. hard to find big block mopar gaskets locally!!! had to try a few places. doesnt smoke, runs great....thanks for all the great advice.
and thanks FABO
Alright, I got off a little early today and decided to get a head start. I was happy to get the front end pulled off without having to remove the radiator/fluid. The crank sprocket was installed on the square slot, not the circle. I have everything lined up and feel confident no contact...
thanks again for all the replies. wednesday is my day off. hopefully this is the problem, and it will be running on monday.. ill post a youtube clip of it running!!!!.....(hopefully)
looking at your crank gear, there are 2 grooves for the slot on the shaft....is it possible that the gear is on wrong making the timing off? if so how do I know which is the correct slot
unfortunately i just checked the engine at TDC and the exhaust valve is pushed down....
makes sense why there would be no compression. wednesday i am off an pulling timing chain cover..what could have happened to the motor while trying to crank with cam in wrong?
if it is off by a small amount...
no compression on #2 cylinder either....only sucking on my finger....i will still buy a compression tool but an sure it is not compressing air.
I do not believe i can adjust my valves....hydraulic FT cam, and stock rockers....
the heads are 440 source stealths...stock length pushrods...484...
