What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Big milestones this week. I got the clutch installed by myself. Then, my son came over today, and we stabbed the transmission.

Something a little different. I was asked if my car could be used in a wedding. The bride had one in High School. Lots of photos and stories. I let them take it for a spin and they had a blast.

This is the week to install my new radiator in the 71 Demon 340. Wanted to get the proper rad into it as the old one in it is not correct and may have some flow issues.

Like anything on these old cars, nothing is quite that simple. When I put the car back together a couple years ago after the restoration, I used the "shortie" fan clutch (Hayden 2947) to get the clearance I needed. With this new correct rad and shroud, I had to get the standard length HD clutch (Hayden 2747). Well of course the fan wasn't looking ideal so after a lengthy meeting with mister sandpaper, the fan got a new coat of paint to spiff it up. Now I have to wait for it to dry before I can start the reassembly process.

I already know the s/s trans cooler lines will argue with me too as the spacing is 2" different between the 2 rads. Fun, fun!

And of course trying not to touch the car or scratch it while working on it is always a treat...

Out with the old: (overflow hose partially removed!)

Here's the new rad not yet installed. It has the proper Small Block upper hose location so I'll be glad to finally get that correct.

I got my Scamp all cleaned up for the next car show and decided that today I'd take it to the grocery store and I found a pile of bugs just waiting to plaster themselves all over my car. :BangHead:
Going to clean it again for the weekend. I did my fair share of bug killing for one day...

Fred. That is a sweet ride my friend.

Finally got all the welding and repair done to the floorboards in the Valiant. Time to start installing stuff again.

Welded, sealed and painted this weekend

Today I pulled the small restrictive breather off and painted the breather I have been saving for her with wrinkle paint, looks and breaths much better

I'm still breaking in the clutch and rear gears so I'm trying to drive it as much as possible before winter gets here. Drove it clear out of gas!
