1972 Dodge Colt

That looks really good Stan. You may need a little more slip on launch to stay in the power band. The McLeod Soft Lok clutch has your name written all over it. :)

Third attempt at clutch pedal stop.
Reasonably happy how it turned out.
A Body hood bumper.
Now to the track to do some tuning.

Just got off the phone with MSD.
This is the next ignition upgrade.
Don't know why they did not put this is the 6AL Digital Box.
I guess its a profit thing.

I will wire to my Line Lock Button.
You run 12 volts thru the switch to the 2 Step.
When you hit the switch, you can then mash the accelerator and the 2 Step cuts the RPM at the setting.
Release the button, bam the RPM Limit in the 6AL keeps all the parts inside the engine.
This will allow me to stage and not worry about getting to the RPM I want to launch it.
Not a real good splaination, but I thinks you get the idea.

You could run the ultra 6AL plus box and have all that in one unit.

A friend of mine has something similar on his dragster. It does stuff he ain't even figured out yet. We can probably get **** on it. lol

So this two step....is that the same thing as what some guys call a stutter box?

Yea. Think of it as another rev limiter. Only not at max rpm, but at launch rpm.
Ok. That's what I thought. But I consider it cheatin so I'd never use it. LMAO I don't know. I reckon if I had a full on race car, I'd have all that fancy stuff. But that'll never happen now.

I don't consider this cheating for some reason.
I need it to hit my launch RPM and since I am not doing a good job I need help.
Should help me be more consistent.

If that rubber on the pedal stop is soft, it might introduce an un-necessary variable that could affect your reaction time consistency. You might also want to consider releasing the 2-step from an adjustable clutch pedal switch, makes it easier to sync the hit of the clutch with 2-step release.

The more rpm you carry into the launch, the better your 60' will be :)

I tried to buy this car when I was looking for my Colt.
He wanted 60k then, it was out of my price range.
But what a great Colt!
What do you plan for it?
Bob offered me the Colt also but I just completed my car. Then I saw the Colt on Racing Junk a year or 2 ago for sale. Guy just bought it and he didn't fit. Funny, I looked for years for a decent Colt to build and when I fished mine I find a bunch for sale. Including yours Stan.

I might have missed it , but what did the colt go ??

I feel blessed everyday to have my Colt.
It's a car I wanted but never get to.
Glad you got the one you got!

Wiring the MSD 2 Step today.
Damn MSD, do they think we mount stuff on plywood?
I guess 2 Chinesium bolts and nuts would cut into the profit margin.
They always say mount with some soft mounts.

2 Step wired.
Readjusted the valve clearance back to .018.
Bumped the timing a couple of degrees.
Waiting on some 38 MM Chokes for the Webers.
Another et combination to get the launch going.
Going to tune the tamer with my new clutch stop.
Tire pressures set, trailer ready.

Fall is here and this is my favorite time of year. However, this year is different. I have recently been released from the hospital and am still under doctor's care. this week I have been going thru evaluations and doctor appointments start next week to determine the course of action to improve my health. I have spoken to our sponsors, and they have all agreed the event should be postponed till the 2025 season. Rather than give you an event that is not up to the standards you deserve I will do their suggestion. Please don't be mad at me, we will make the event even better next year. I will keep the webpage informed of my health. This is breaking my heart I so look forward to seeing each and everyone every year. Your thoughts and prayers are so appreciated.
