[FOR SALE] 1965 commando barracuda part out

My bad. Thought the neutral thing would be kind of obvious.

[FOR SALE] 1965 commando barracuda part out

Great. You can just jack it up with both wheels off the ground and spin the right rear wheel. If the other wheel spins in the same direction it is limited slip. If it spins the opposite direction it isn’t.

[FOR SALE] 1965 commando barracuda part out

If it was a 235hp car it should be limited slip. However, a lot of these have been removed when the rear end needed repair. My convertible is an original 235hp car that should have a limited slip, but it’s gone. I think the welded hole in the diff cover is a good clue to what happened to it...

[FOR SALE] 1965 commando barracuda part out

I’d be interested in the limited slip if it’s 7.25. But I’m sure you’d want to sell the whole rear end, and it wouldn’t be cost effective to ship the whole thing.

    Body Carts / Panel Alignment.

Why not just build some wheels that attach to the body? That’s what I did before I put my car on the rotisserie. You can make them whatever height you want. I made mine low so it was easy to work on. 1/4” plate and 2” 1/8 wall square tubing. Mine mount on the rear shackle pad and the front...

My ‘66 Valiant Convertible at CTC Cars & Coffee

Thanks. I forgot that the first disc brake Darts had single reservoir master cylinders. I’ve got everything to convert both of my cars to disc, except the M/C, and I plan to do what you did. That is a really cool car you have. Especially since it is a 235hp 4 speed with factory discs! I’d...

My ‘66 Valiant Convertible at CTC Cars & Coffee

That is a very nice car! I’ve never seen a Signet Commando with the 4-speed. I wish my ‘65 Dart convertible was. It would be interesting to know how many of these they built. Not too many, I’d guess. Wonder if the disc brakes were stock? He said he did the master cylinder, but that looked like...

    NOT LEGENDARY BUT..................

Wow! That does look good. The plastic was mentioned, but I wasn’t real sure about it. I am concerned about cutting and shaping the foam. That looks tricky. My main purpose in getting the seats done was just to give me more time to work on my coupe. I’m getting older and want to devote as much...

    NOT LEGENDARY BUT..................

I’ve thought about it. It’s just something I’d like to farm out so I can devote more time to my other car. I’m willing to spend some money, but what they want locally just seems high. The videos on how to do it are pretty good. The buckets are the worst part. I plan to do everything else, and...

    NOT LEGENDARY BUT..................

I have a complete Legendary interior yet to be installed for my ‘65 Dart GT convertible. Carpet, kick panels, front buckets and back seats, as well as a new boot for the top. Two local upholstery shops wanted $2500-$2800 to install the interior, or just $1000 to do the buckets. Seemed a little...

    Cragar SS lug nut trouble

My new lug nuts from Summit came today. Three packages of LH (9400-4) and three packages of RH (9500-4). The chrome isn’t great but they appear to fit. McGard lug nuts from Jeg’s were mentioned in an earlier post, so I went to their site. I couldn’t find any McGard nuts that were 7/16” RH or LH...

    Front suspension Q’s

Thanks. I didn’t read the first posts correctly and I thought the offset bushings were also adjustable. Now I understand they just give you more range - if they are installed correctly. Didn’t mean to hijack the post, but this was good information I didn’t have about the Moog bushings. Now I...

    Front suspension Q’s

I’m familiar with how suspensions work and basic front end alignment, but, after looking at the Moog bushings, I’m curious how you would adjust them once they are installed.Do you strike the tabs on the sleeve, or do you simply install them in a particular position? This is a dumb question to...

    Cragar SS lug nut trouble

This thread has been very helpful to me. When I bought my wheels and tires several years ago I had this same discussion with my local tire store. After several calls to their distributor for Cragar wheels they told me that the conical lug nuts were all that were available and I had to use them...

    Your first mopar...?

Not 100% sure, but it looks like a Clay Smith Cams decal. Wish I still had one! Beautiful car and a great story. That garage looks full of very nice toys!

    Full new wiring harness?

Thanks. I’ll check these options out. I have a ‘65 coupe and convertible to do, and spare harness from my donor car. Everything works on the convertible, but some of the connectors are a little toasty, and its’ harness has been repaired in a couple of places. My coupe is on the rotisserie and...

Does anyone make a full harness for a ‘65 A-body? Those two vendors only go back to ‘67 on their website.

Wax, Glaze, or Ceramic coating ?

Thanks, Rusty for checking on this. The price seems reasonable compared to some of the products I have seen in the past. I was just getting ready to do something with my new Ram truck and travel trailer, so this is very helpful.

Best Hammer/ Dolly Set advice from a Pro Panel Beater

Somewhere along the line I lost most of the body tools I kept from my Snap-On truck, but I still have all of my dollies. They’re getting a good workout on my Dart. I’m not a body man by trade, just by hobby, but I can tell you that cheap body hammers and dollies just don’t work the same, or five...

Smoked glass pictures and/or personal experience with it

$1500 for the back glass only. Plus shipping. ECS can’t get the rear glass for a ‘65 Dart, just the front, at $450 + shipping. I will check out Classic. Thanks. AMD doesn’t show my glass on their site.

BF Goodrich radial T/A white letters

This is the first time I’ve had a problem with this type of tire, and I’ve been buying them a while. How long? Attached pictures are of my ‘71 T-top in my parent’s front yard in Phoenix. Fall of ‘74, I think. Sorry about the poor quality. I didn’t want to take the pictures out of the frame...

BF Goodrich radial T/A white letters

Have a bottle, didn’t work. Also tried Comet and an aggressive scrub brush. I noticed the brown color when I picked up the car from tire store but just figured they forgot to clean them. The letters were just stained from the factory, I guess.

BF Goodrich radial T/A white letters

I’ve got a set that were brown since new. The car sat for a year and when I went to clean them up realized they weren’t going to. Pretty unhappy, but figured I was stuck. That was 5-6 years ago. They don’t have a thousand miles on them.

Smoked glass pictures and/or personal experience with it

I’d like to know what you find out. I wasn’t aware of ECS as a vendor and checked their web site. The best price I have gotten for a rear windshield from a well-know vendor was $1500. ECS shows $500 for the rear and $450 for the front. Thanks for the information.

    273 Commando - UTG

I thought the video was inaccurate and biased. But I have to make a comment about the 7.25 rear end reliability. It’s been nearly 58 years since I bought my ‘65 GoGo in September of 1966. I can’t recall the mileage on it, but it was low, probably less than 7,000 miles. I beat the hell out of...
