    1973 duster temp sensor question

Even new ones can be iffy. The fluctuating voltage is perfectly normal. The problem has to be with the sender if grounding the wire gets the gauge up. Are you sure that the sender itself is grounding as it should?

Best Carter 4 Barrel Carburetor for a stock 273?

That’s what I was saying until it was 41 degrees and I was pressed for time early in the morning but couldn’t get the damn thing to idle. Holley VS with electric choke was a good deal. Makes life easier. Start and 10 seconds later pull away like it has efi.

    1973 duster temp sensor question

What sensor are you using? i ran into the same issue with mine and the sensor ( sending unit ) would not work with my factory gauge i ended up installing a aftermarket bosch sensor and gauge. it works fine now. If your gauge moves with the wiring grounded it has to be in the sender. try and find...

Changing the rear quarters on my Dart conv. from a 69 to a 70

Frankly, if You've got full OE style quarters, You should put them on. Do a nice job of drilling out & separating the spot welds, & sell the nice full '69 quarters to somebody who needs them, I'm sure there'll be takers.

    1973 duster temp sensor question

I have had trouble finding good heat temp sending units, even the brand new ones are bad at times. I usually test the sending units with a test light clamp on battery + positive and poke the send unit terminal. The test light should glow if working correctly. The more the engine warms up the...

    “Budget” Suspension Build Input

Indeed! I did the poly graphite bushings. No squeaks, nice and tight feel. On the wife’s ‘67 Cúda, I went with standard QA1 on all 4 corners. We like it. Bushings are rubber. Once there shot, I’ll do poly graphite. Simple but upgraded. Nothing fancy, just better.

    “Budget” Suspension Build Input

I'd rather have good shocks with rubber and stock strut rods than cheap shocks on poly bushes. I had cheap Napa shocks on my car when I bought it and swapping them for a set of Viking double adjustables was a night and day difference.

    Wasn’t someone looking for a W2 intake.

Thanks. He does the videos from his Driod phone. I do have the W2 porting templates. He did the work first. We talked about it and it basically went like this. Charlie (C) You have a set of W2’s? I’ve never seen a set up close. Are you porting them? Who’s doing the work? I’d love to take a...

Good Initial Timing and Too much Total Timing Problem. Seeking guidance to minimize total timing. 1969 Swinger 340 4 Gear

This engine is non-std & has a non-factory carb & headers, both visible in the pic. Does it have other mods? So factory settings can only be useful as a guide once engines are modified. Even absolutely stock engines can benefit from 'tweaking'. That is because the car maker, not knowing the end...

No I wasn't going there. I just wanted to know, because machine shops have dried up around here. I've talked to Scott's before. Sounds like good people. Are you familiar with Howell's in Cochran?

    Valiant Convertible

I have stumbled upon a 65 Valiant Convertible. Factory 273/904, white top and red interior. Not sure of original exterior color yet. It's been in a barn for a number of years and at some point somebody attempted to put patch panels on the passenger side quarter panel and both floor boards...

Car runs and drives, but suspension and front brakes are really tired. It definitely needs to get done. Purpose of the car use is street and backroads driving. The lever that needs to 'push back all the way' is the lever on the trans, not the linkage on the carb. Which one are you checking?
