    Online Air Density Any Good?

Guess I’ve never compared my station to the online stuff. Airdensityonline.com is one I’ve looked at when I’m following some racer friends online

My roadtrip hacienda….. just enough room between the golf cart and the Duster On 3-4 day events we used to get a motel…. but that’s all stopped with society. Our stuff is safe at the track so we make do living there.

That was a game changer for me too John…. Dumped the E rated tires for some Greenball Towmaster G rated tires. Only caviet is that I’m quite sure my wheels are not rated for them. Usually leave the house with them at 90psi. I wouldn’t buy a trailer that didn’t have 16” wheels. I also take...

Guys this is why you work on your car trailer

Actually…… our old 2500 displaced that theory. Prior to the boat sale it would sit outside. It too would go through tires in the 2-3 year range. Biggest issue was probably letting it sit. I only live 8 miles from work and have a jeep for a daily, so unless we were towing the boat or race...

My trailer “fun” from a few years ago….. we’d been having tire wear issues on the rear axle. Took the trailer to a repair facility where I made the call to replace the axle. It was at this time they upsold me the Dexter EZ flex equalizer kit. Looked good….. all moving parts have serviceable...

All the time…. the off road community around here is awesome. You break down in the desert on whatever desert toy, throw a SOS post with a pin on the local page, and you’ll get help.

and despite writing down all the pertinent measurements I ordered the wrong heim ends for my A-arms…. Ordered the correct ones and have the wrongs ready to ship back. Guess I’ll take the weekend off :)

Prior to storing my trailer tires inside for the summer (June through Sept) we’d get two year on them…… maybe 3, but it was on that 3 we’d lose one or two. My present tires are dated coded 2019. By far the most we’ve gotten out of a trailer tire since moving to the desert. I also store the...

Well the same fixture I conjured up to check runout came in real handy to mount in a vice at work and machine the rotors. Got those trued up and in taking a peek at the two step deal I found the plug from the two step to the MSD box loose…. Like really loose. I think the circuit board was...

Well after 8 long months we finally made some hits. The Mopar Musclecar Shootout was held at Famoso and despite the weather forecast we made the 5hr trek west. This event had previously been a Sacramento race, but with the closing of that facility the promoter brought it south. Attendance...

Mines a pavement princess so I’ll always have “HT” tires. I think one time at a trailhead with the RZR open trailer we actually used 4x4.

No clutches in your American axle so no friction modifier needed. A little chatter is kind of nature of the beast on some of these.

Funny thing was that I had myself convinced that a 6.4 hemi 2500/3500 would have worked just fine. Our racing has slowed, the boat has sold, and the only other toy is a 14ft open trailer for the RZR. Worked on a customers 3500 SRW 6.4 hemi 4.10 gear AND factory 50 gal gas tank, I was like...

68RFE wouldn’t have been a deal breaker for sure on my 17, but am happy the AISIN is there. IMHO the only good 08-12 CTD is a DELEATED 08-12 CTD. relying solely on EGR to meet emissions was a really bad idea. Replaced so many turbos in that era. I brought an 11 home from work many years...

High Speed vibration, can't find what's causing it.

I’d be leery of the balancing beads with the softer compound of a slick. It’s also a no go if you are coating the inside of the slicks to prevent leaks (old dish soap trick). I run tubes so bubble balance is my go to.

Working on the product I absolutely love the 14-18 model years. Our race rig is only 12k so our uprated 01 3.55 geared 47re auto handled it “ok”, but after 18 years we jumped on a 17 3500 SRW crew cab long bed AISIN trans 3.42 geared that got traded in where I work. Absolutely ZERO regrets...

Pretty much!!! If we get the move done I’ll be 300+ miles one way to either of the “close” race tracks. 10+ hrs butt time. I’ll go through more travel fuel in a weekend than you will all season. Writings on the wall…..

Well….. the car is heading to phoenix on Friday. Got a message from Mike and it’s game on. I’ll be relieved to have everything “right” again…. but putting the wheels back on the trailer in this heat was not fun. Only required a couple cool off sessions in the pool. We’ll load her up tomorrow...

Sitting here watching racing and thinking about how crazy this game has gotten

I think the 2016 version of my car could have been a player at a race like this. Right converter had us at 1.34 60ft everywhere. Car was soooo predictable. It was pretty much up to me…..

    727 Help Please

That NEVER happens! (Sarcasm) Happened after my burnout. Rolled forward in second after heating up the tires. Stopped and dropped to 1st to roll towards the lights and nothing but a box of neutrals. Towed back to the pits and removed a cooler line and no flow. TCS makes a pump gear.

Comp Chassis in Phoenix. Mike has done the K in house, the cage and re-did the ladder bar set up. Unfortunately his work has been limited as the guy he was leasing the shop from passed….. left a couple messages and have talked to him once in the past couple months. Can’t get an answer from...

Got a friend that’s built a couple of K members so when things cool a bit I’ll head west and see if we can straighten this mess out….. once that occurs I’ll be sure to hit the track and verify that it’s “good” and the whole operation will be going up for sale. It’s been a good run.

Yeah those “X” torsion bars…. if I’d a kept the car I’m sure that set up would have been long gone in favor of rack steering and coil overs. In the 27 years it went from 318,340 4bbl Carter AVS, 340 6pak (only has to trim one support under hood to fit the air cleaner), back to 4bbl with Ebrock...

Well I seem to be stuck in an interesting predicament. I know the K is bent, but I can’t seem to get the guy who built it very interested in building me a new one. I’d consider taking it off and attempting to straighten it, but that’d require a jig that I don’t have. I guess I’m going to have...

I left Dec 90 for my 1 year prison stretch with alcohol privileges…. (Shemya). In the spring of 91 after being released we took the ole Mirada to the track for the first time (minus the 6pak) LD340 and ebrock 750 iirc and ran 13.8 so it’s pretty safe to say I was 14s on the streets up there...
