4 Headlights or 2 Headlights; opinions needed.

I prefer to have them or see them as close to stock looking as possible. Having said that most people wouldn't know the difference if you changed it because of the age of the car. I often get the compliment "nice Mustang" for my Barracuda, others have no idea what it is, they ask or read the badges.

    Steering column help

...We left the steering wheel on and placed the column face down on the steering wheel. With a hammer we tapped upwards with vice grips on the shaft under the pins with the coupler removed to extend it. *EDIT* skip to the 3 minute mark on the video to see another way of doing it. Video here:

    Car stalls after Warm

IDK. It sounds to me like a carb adjustment problem. Try and adjust idle timing and mixture when the engine is hot.

    Notchy steering on Charger

Just wondering if your coupler is hitting a header or exhaust pipe. My coupler was hitting in four spots as it rotated due to the top of the coupler being rectangular in shape.

    69 barracuda steerig coupler

I have the same year car with power steering and had the same issue. Since the coupler is rectangular it was only hitting in 4 spots when turned. Instead of denting the header we filed down a bit of the top of the 4 corners of the coupler. It will depend on how much clearance you need and where...

Driver Side Hazard Flashing When Off 1974 Plymouth Valiant Scamp

Ummm... what car, year, engine, modifications are we trying to help you with?

Driver Side Hazard Flashing When Off 1974 Plymouth Valiant Scamp

From @67Dart273 HOW DOES the hazard flashers work? The hazard flasher always gets hot power. That power goes to one terminal of the switch you showed. That leaves three terminals. One other goes to the left turn lamp wire, one other goes to the right turn lamp wire, and this leaves the last...

Master Cylinder - 67 Barracuda converted to front disc brakes

Pssst... you linked to your own thread. Yes, I agree with the others, you have the wrong MC installed or not changed out by the previous owner.

    steering column removal

I dealt with this issue a couple of weeks ago. We used wd40 and a hammer and tapped on the bottom of the coupler upwards. It was slow going but it eventually came free. I still had the seat in the car and rested the column on a crate to raise it and relieve some tension at the coupler. There may...

    Solder those pins!

I previously posted about electrical issues with my Barracuda I was chasing down. Since the bezel was out I checked the pins on the main connector. I found 3 loose pins and one broken off completely. I soldered a wire to the contact point on the board to that broken one with a slip on connector...

What the heck am I doing wrong with this '74 Valiant hood?

I agree with @MV8. If it can't be straightened then the search is on for a replacement.

What the heck am I doing wrong with this '74 Valiant hood?

Yes, I just went by the photos you posted that would put the hood closest to the cowl. I hope you get it sorted out.

What the heck am I doing wrong with this '74 Valiant hood?

I'm looking at your bolts in the slots, move the hood the opposite way to move the hood forward away from the cowl. Your bolts should be on the extreme ends of the other side of the slots to move it away from the cowl.

Manifold Vacuum Advance what am I not getting?

I've always thought that on a street car ported vacuum is the best way to go since most driving is at lower speeds. For a street brawler or race engine manifold advance should be used. I understand cam and compression come into play when choosing. I also think that if the carburetor is not...

    Car won't start

I currently have a "69 fastback apart. If the ammeter wires were not attached to the guage and instead joined together as you describe it's bypassed. I had to move my car with it apart and it started fine. We made sure everything (switches, etc) were clear of the dash frame before moving it. You...

Manifold Vacuum Advance what am I not getting?

I've been following this thread and see how little I know, it's gotten quite in depth. It'll be interesting to see what the OP's compression test reveals.

    Hazard lights finally fixed!

@67Dart273 Thanks so much for the explanation! I've edited this a couple times because my neighbour explained things differently, he said in the off position the switch connects 2 terminals and in the on position it connects all four terminals on the switch. He won't use the wiring diagram I...

    Hazard lights finally fixed!

I've been having brake light issues (69 Barracuda) for quite a while. The brake lights were either dim or didn't work at all. I thought it was a short. So I just wired the switch to the battery feed at the fuse box instead. Since we had the dash apart and testing things we noticed the emergency...

    Demon won't start

You're welcome, so it's most likely an ignition or electrical issue so I'll leave it to the more experienced guys here, good luck!

    Demon won't start

Sounds like an ignition problem. Please advise us what engine and what modifications have been done to it. A 72 should be an electronic ignition, not points. And with that

I've never played the game.... but many do

I shouldn't have to say anything with a big 340 callout on my fender. Yet they still pull up beside me and ask what I have in it since it's shaking. lol. Not too many people, mostly the young ones probably ever heard of a 340 I guess?

You help one neighbour with their car and it snowballs.

Yeah I hear ya. Just yesterday while working on my car a lady neighbour called my friend away. He spent a bout 15 minutes looking at her little problems. I just walked away and took a break *sigh*. He has a hard time saying no and I warn him about taking on too much but he's just a nice guy.

Fun times (not) removing dash bezel.

I forgot to mention that the main reason for taking the bezel out was that my wipers haven't worked in years and was avoiding that job. It turned out to be a clip on the linkage arm of course. My car looks more like a parts car at the moment. lol.

You help one neighbour with their car and it snowballs.

I'm lucky to have a neighbour that is an automotive engineer. He started out by helping me with a car issue and now most of his spare time (and mine) is going to helping our neighbours. We live in a townhouse complex so everybody knows everybody. Brake jobs are the most common jobs we get from...
