    Rack and pinion

There’s no good way to add a rack and pinion without a complete K-frame replacement. Anything less than that typically results in poor suspension geometry and lots of bump steer. But yes, there are kits that will give you poor geometry and bump steer.

    nice little A body Charger

it's probably just a spec'd rack to his custom mounts on the K, or he fabbed the mounts on the K to use one out of the catalog. you did notice that it's rear steer and it goes through the oil pan, right?

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

Interesting background, thanks for that. Makes better sense why you never mapped the geometry. Just out of curiosity, was the ‘73 Duster in the late ‘90’s your first attempt at a rack swap? Such a sweet car, daydreamed about that one for years.

Brand new QA1 front suspension and still have steering wheel play?

I agree, BUT, the Borgeson box IS really good. Maybe I just don't notice a center dead spot on it (at all) because of the memory of how bad a stock box is. Seems like I turn and it goes.

    440 / 727 swap in a 73 duster

I was definitely gonna go with a rack and pinion set up, just not sure whether or not to go a power rack setup. I want to be able to turn the wheel easily but still have a good feel through the wheel. I haven't had any experience with power rack setups before.

Damn, that's pretty sweet. I wish I could get a rack and pinion set up integrated into my stock k-member. Id like a different pan vs the low lying super stock milodon

    Bostonian 71 demon

What are you doing with the old k-member? That's something I was interested in doing myself with rack and pinion. Also, thanks for all the photos, I needed some more good ideas for taking weight off the car. My front frame rails I cut the pinch weld seam off and welded the two pieces together.

Small block headers: worst to best fitting. List your experience.

Seems to be a lot of different headers for diffrent small block LA/Magnum 1967-1976 A-bodies and not enough info to go around. If someone has had good/bad experience while installing headers sets with certain options (like power steering, aluminum heads, rack-pinion, etc), maybe we can list it...

Lol funny thing is this is why I have this on my dart. I brought this for my swap. A gen 3 swaps require so much more room. I put a rack and pinion setup on my other dart that has a Gen 3 hemi swap.

    73 Duster 340 Suspension Recommendations

Rack & Pinion is a big improvement ,Coil over suspension is another plus, For the street HDK suspension is sturdy. I went with AJE suspension. Its light but I would not recommend it for the street. very weak and should be used with front and mid plated engine mounting.

Brand new QA1 front suspension and still have steering wheel play?

...Still, some things can’t be compared directly to modern cars. You can’t expect a worm and ball steering box to feel exactly like a rack and pinion, they just don’t. Which is not to say they should have a ton of slop, they shouldn’t. But even at their best a worm and ball sector will have an...

Finally getting on a job that I had on my winter list. And didn’t get to

That’s the only way to go in my eyes. When I bought this car around 2007-2008 it was set up with this rack but a very crude Mercury Capri strut and brake setup. I tried looking for spare parts but the setup was so old and made in Germany I couldn’t find available parts. I was always afraid if I...

    Rack and pinion
