Cheap *** headers at it again!!

dan dan minivan man over here acting as if tti's and doug's just go on ahead and jump right into the engine bay and slide right on in when you open the box like spending 1K on headers is some kinda magic cheat code. are expensive headers easier to install than most, yes. but they too are not...

Best cam for the street both power & sound

buy one of the 360's the cost in building it is no different. or, more correctly, not different enough to matter. caveat: no matter what get the best condition and most complete motor you can, regardless of CID. you'll be miles ahead there.

    Seeking advice intake manifold

having AC is going to limit your choices, a lot of aftermarket intakes don't have provisions for it. or at least for the stock pick ups on the brackets. so that means aftermarket brackets/systems. a lot of intakes don't have a provision for the coil mount, either. the one that jumps to mind...

    What "makes" a 66 Barracuda a Formula S ??

there was very original 4spd S car locally that was really nice and seemed well sorted for low 20's and i thought that was a pretty good deal. if i was in the market i 1000% would've bought it, too. considering it was decked out in my kryptonite-- green with black interior.

TV personalities, sponsors and property damage aside you can't really ask for more of an A & B test

Cheap *** headers at it again!!

yes, but how many have you actually installed? how many cars have you had with headers? how many cars with headers have you worked on? research all you want, there's no substitution for real world experience. also, sounds like headers aren't for you.

Cheap *** headers at it again!!

maybe you need to go watch it again and refresh your memory. the amount and degree to which they dented those tubes up far exceeds any amount i've ever had to massage a header in order to get it to fit, and i'm sure it's the same for most others. and what was the outcome? that's right, nearly...

    Disc brake/spindle ID

interesting. i was under the impression that you couldn't run the BBP discs and calipers on the A spindle because it was too short and the caliper did not bolt up. is it possible the hub has been redrilled? anything is possible when talking about these cars, but the documentation is out...

Don't read if you're close minded

yeah, my lizard brain thought: 340=TQ rather than: oh, an early 340 would have an AVS and swapping that one for an AVS unit off a 440 would make sense. a whole hear hoof beats and thinking zebras when it was donkeys around the corner instead.

i collected a lot of money off of the unsuspecting with a 318 that just "had headers and a 4bbl" and looked to be the brother from another mother to that motor, right down to the parts store special chrome air cleaner. agree to the day two action. throw mellow little cam and intake at it, snap...

interesting... probably some ford parts that were modified to fit, hence the opening of the wheel register. for a long time the KH rotors were near impossible to get so a lot of people went to great lengths making thing just work. like others have said, i'd try and clean up what you have and...

are those big bolt or small bolt? i know that there's uni-cast stuff out there for big bolt, and there was some a long time ago for small bolt (i think goodmark made or sold them?) but i haven't seen those in years and years.

    Mild 383 build

the short answer: it depends the longer answer is: what is your ultimate intended goal? the alum heads probably have more room to grow, or will support a lot more power in out of the box form vs stock 906/915 heads. an aftermarket head is generally machined for larger valve springs, larger...

    What "makes" a 66 Barracuda a Formula S ??

money. if i'm paying S car money i want a legit S car. especially if i consider that car as an investment.

    What "makes" a 66 Barracuda a Formula S ??

exactly. if i was in the market for an S car i'd 100% want a paper trail. it would be entirely feasible to fabricate one out of thin air with the right sets of parts.

    What "makes" a 66 Barracuda a Formula S ??

to my understanding, on the early cars VIN had no indication of "formula S" fender tag was the identifier and corroborated by the build sheet. obviously the motor, HD suspension & swaybar and specific parts of the interior group were part of the S package and would help in identifying a car...

Got zapped by my Engine !

it predated my time at the shop, but the story goes that one of the guys hooked a magneto to a drill and rigged it up to the door knob of the foreman's office. any and all shenanigans or chicanery was deemed a fireable offense when i did my stint in that joint. Boss King was a right prick...
