    I bought a Hughes regrind years ago and it was 214/216 w .510 valve lift. - worked great. This ebay seller has regrinds w 228* @ 0.050” w 1.5 rocker .525” valve lift - I was just wondering how much can you regrind a cam? Regrinding a stock cam, You don’t have a lot to work with.

    Ebayer selling regrinds form a “reputable” cam shop around Dallas. I believe you can grind them a bit, but when you approach higher lobe lifts, grinding away at the base circle, something is not going to go right. Yes, Im certain longer pushrods are going to be needed.

    How far would you trust one of these? Certain lift? Duration? Can only cut what is there! the base circle gets ground away a bit for the extra lift. And that means longer push rods. AND the lifter drops further in the bore. Can the base circle get too small?

    Break in oil

    Always good to do a good break in. Follow the norm of running 2-2.5k first 20 min. If your open valve spring pressure is under 350lbs w a moderate cam, should be no big issue. After break in, oil change will prob only require a minimum of zinc additive. Never hurts too be careful.
