    distributor wiring?

Well, calling MSD was useless. "Get it running without the MSD box, then call us back". It's a model 6200. I posted on MSD's forum, got over 400 views, no responses. Thinking I'm going to give Don at FBO a call.

    distributor wiring?

It's an older model 6 unit. The website said it was superseeded by the 6A, but the wiring is different from what I have.

    distributor wiring?

While I was trying to carefully unplug all of the original wiring in my bracket car I cut both wires to my electronic distributor. I have an older MSD-6 box and am using a painless switch panel. I assume one of the wires goes to the MSD, but it is so old MSD doesn't show a wiring harness for...

    Painless switch panel?

So far, so good. I'm about half done wiring up the car. Is there a relay for the lights under the dash? I'm thinking that would be a good place to tie into.

Well, got my switch panel this week. Time to get to work.

    Painless switch panel?

Has anyone used a Painless switch panel to wire up a drag race car? Thinking about using the #50302 6 switch panel. How much of the original wiring did you keep? I'm thinking neutral safety switch and starter relay can stay, otherwise eliminate all of the 38 year old wiring from the car...

    Charging issues?

Success! Installed everything 13.4 volts at idle cutoff switch works perfectly. Couldn't run the car for very long(fuel cell is out for leak repairs), but it seems to be working great. Thanks 67Dart for all the help.

    Charging issues?

Got my relay, the brown truck didn't bring the disconnect switch Friday. I like the idea of not having any hot wires when the switch is thrown. Next winter this thing is getting a complete re-wire.

    Charging issues?

OK, did some detective work. Turns out the P.O. ran a wire with a fusable link directly from the start relay stud to power one of the fields on the alt. I took my bosch relay out of the circuit to the voltage regulator and hooked it back up directly. 14.9 volts, but of course the master...

    Charging issues?

OK, nevermind the yellow and purple field wires. I just realized the yellow wire is from my relay socket. This thing is making me stupid. I have a Ford solonoid up front to run the starter also the kill switch is a single pole. Does it matter witch field wire the relay is switching. I have...

    Charging issues?

OK here goes. 74 Dart, strip only. Battery in trunk, two pole kill switch, elec. fuel pump, elec fan. When I first got the car two years ago, the battery kept going dead. The kill switch also wouldn't kill the engine. I have since replaced the battery, voltage regulator, and alternator. I...

    charging issues

If I can jump this thread, 74 Dart, bat. in trunk, two post kill switch, stock elec. dist, older msd-6 box, elec. fan and elec fuel pump. I replaced the volt reg. when I first got the car because of excessive voltage. The car has sat for over a year since then. I have put in a new agm...

Painless or make my own ?

I don't know about their Mopar stuff, but the American Auto wire kit I put in my kid's Chevy pickup was awsome. Factory connectors and enough extra wire to do the job twice.

    Got my FBO distributor !

We put the whole Stage II kit in my son's Dart. It works great. Don's coil puts out some serious spark.
